SUMMARY:

Gender and sexuality as a psychosocial issue: Dimension- well-being based on what well being means we
can see that there are various dimensions into it.

Three primary dimensions of wellbeing.

*physical- physical/biological health

*Emotional- positive feelings; mood and stability;

*Mental- clarity of mind, healthy thought process;

Definition of terms:

Psychosocial- a term pertaining to psychological and social factors and the interaction of these factors

Psychosocial issue- needs and concerns relating to one or all the psychosocial dimensions.

Reproductive role: social script ascribed to individuals pertaining to their role in economic production.

Productive Role- pertaining to their role in economic production and related task as engaging in public
affairs and living in the world of work.

Introduction:

It is emphasized that these productive mechanisms are interpreted by societies. Thereby creating
differentiated social standards for behavior and expectations. Since the human female is capable
bearing a child, society interpret this capacity as associated to womanhood. In the other hand since the
human male does not have capability to bear child but has a relatively large musculoskeletal frame, the
society expects the human male to perform productive role in the society.

However, while there are distinct physiological differences, much or the capabilities except those
involved in reproduction can actually be performed by either sex. Both men and women can perform
child rearing roles. Both cam also engage and succeed in the work of work.

Psychological- field of science which concerns itself with how people think and feel how thoughts and
feelings interact and lead to behavior.

3 primary psychological domains:

Affect- or active domain pertains to people emotion and feelings.

Behavior- Domain pertains to people action. Both observable (overt) or not readily observable
(convert).
Cognition or cognitive domain- pertains to peoples through process such as memory, perception, and
information, processing.

Elements or our gendered:

Awareness- our conscious understanding of something , As individuals, we are in constant process


toward self- awareness.

INTIMACY and RELATIONSHIP- when two people recognize and become aware to each other.

HUMAN relationship- A bond between two or more people. Manifested through communication and
interaction.

Intimacy- How we behave in relation to other people, with due consideration to social expectations
related to our gender, and how we make a choices to balance out personal goals and social goals
process by which we learn cultural norms and an traditions in referred to as socialization.

Well- being as a psychological goal- ultimate goal of understanding the psychological aspects of our
experiences is well being a state of satisfaction, meaning, and purpose.

Three sides to well –being:

One is that kind of well- being which is OBSERVED, OUTWARD, and can be EVALUATED through the
presence or absence of Dimensions - well-being based on what well- being means we can see that there
are various dimensions into it.
