CAS English Trimester Portfolios

Purpose:
★ To reflect upon your development and growth as a student
★ To celebrate the accomplishments of which you are most proud
★ To recognize and look back on the efforts you’ve made
★ To think critically about your strengths and goals

Requirements:
★ Present a polished portfolio showcasing your accomplishments in each of the
following areas:
○ Inquirers
○ Principled
○ Area of Choice (may not be repeated this year)
○ Area of Choice (may not be repeated this year)
★ For each area, you should
○ Select 1-3 artifacts which demonstrate active engagement in the development
of that particular profile trait (Non-digital documents may be photographed
and inserted into the portfolio. This is your responsibility. Ask if you need a
paper that is in your teacher’s possession BEFORE you need it.)
○ Provide a reflection of 200-400 words where you explore how this trait is
displayed through the artifacts you have selected. Below are some things to
consider as you reflect on your work:
Observe: Take a step back, notice and name qualities of your work.
● Why are you including these artifacts in your portfolio?
● What makes them stand out among your body of work?
● To what extent does this work best represent your
understanding of the course content?
Wonder: Take a closer look with a constructive and critical eye.
● What might a family member or classmate say about this work?
● If you had to change one part of how you approached this trait
this trimester, what would it be? Why?
Plan: To build on current knowledge and set goals for the future.
● In what area(s) do you want to improve?
● How will you grow as a learner?
● What do you need to continue learning in this area?
○ It is recommended that each artifact should be directly visible in the portfolio.
(If you do use links to additional documents, be sure they are shared “Anyone
with the link may comment.” )
★ Your portfolio should be submitted on *** by *** Provide a link to the original
document as a comment on the assignment.
