→ During the Mughal Period, Sheikh Enayetullah built
a garden house named Rang Mahal.
→ Sheikh Motiullah sold the garden house to French
merchandisers.
→ The French used the garden house as their trading
center.
→ Khwaja Alimullah bought it from the French in 1830
and started to live there after effective construction
and renovation.

ʘ Tornado On April 7, 1888, severely damaged Ahsan
Manzil, specially the Andar Mahal.

❖ In 1952, the Dhaka Nawab Estate was acquired
under the East Bengal Estate Acquisition Act.
❖ Nawab Khwaja Habibullah started living at Paribag
Green House after the acquisition of the Dhaka
Nawab Estate.
❖ After the independence of Bangladesh, most of the
nawab family went to abroad in search of a better
livelihood and work.
❖ In 1974, the owners of the palace decided to give it
up on auction.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman canceled its
auction proposal option.
On November 2, 1974, he ordered to establish a
museum and tourist center after its proper
conservation.
In 1985, Ahsan Manzil and its surroundings were
acquired. completion of the renovation work
In 1992, a museum has been established according to
the direction of the father of nation.
Begum Khaleda Zia inaugurated the museum on the
20th September, 1992.
