Automatic high speed machines to

dose pharmaceutical powders and

liquids into vials, bottles and caps.

We are part of
Tecnotrend, part of Comas Group, is a leading company in designing and manufacturing automatic
filling machines to dose pharmaceutical powder and liquids into vials or special containers.

In 1993, Tecnotrend patented a system to develop unique

machines in the world, able to dose pharmaceutical powders, by
keeping the product in A class, i.e. MicroPura system.

In 1999 a new motion system was patented to improve bottles

transfer and perform several operations while still achieving high
production speeds. Thanks to this high technical knowledge and a
wide range of dosing systems, Tecnotrend is able to design and
manufacture “tailor-made” machines. For many years Tecnotrend
made a wide part of its company turnover by supplying dosing and
capping and sealing machines to big Italian and European
machines constructors for pharma: these machines were integrated
in their lines.
Many special requests that involve a long project phase are often
disregarded by the major pharma manufacturers who prefer to
focus on standard production, so these specific projects are taken
in charge by Tecnotrend who is devoted to a professional research
and constant attention to innovation.
Thanks to this “niche” job, Tecnotrend is also able to develop
customized machines for R&D having specific configurations, in
strict compliance with GMP and FDA.

Research and Innovation have always been our asset.

FM SERIES: VACUUM/ PRESSURE DOSING SYSTEM WITH
DOSING DISK
The VACUUM/PRESSURE dosing system is a VOLUMETRIC system,
based on the principle that a certain quantity of HOMOGENEOUS
product corresponds to a precise VOLUME. The product is not
transferred directly from the first container (powder tank) to the final
one (bottle) but in a first phase it is placed in an INTERMEDIATE
CONTAINER (the dosator).
MORE ABOUT FM SERIES Operation:
• The DISK is placed in rotation,
• Thanks to the rotation, each dosing chamber inside the disk
passes under the powder working hopper.
• The air is sucked (VACUUM) through the piston so as to put the
dosing chamber in depression and the powder is filled into the
chamber.
• During the rotation of the disc, from the powder loading position to
the powder ejecting position, the powder is retained with
continuous suction (VACUUM).
• Once the powder ejecting position has been reached, after a
rotation of 180°, the dosing chamber is placed vertically on the
bottle that in the meantime has been positioned under the funnel.
• The depression is interrupted, indeed a slight pressure is created
by blowing air (PRESSURE) through the piston, and the powder is
so ejected into the funnels then into the bottle

(pos. 7) group, which is removable, washable and sterilizable.
• a series of funnels (between the disk and the
bottles)
FG SERIES: gravity dosing system
The gravity system is used when the
granules have a granulometry of more
than 200 µ and therefore the
vacuum/pressure system is not
appropriate.

It is based on the assumption that the

powder to dose is so smooth that its
weight makes the granules fall down.

The dosing unit in these machines consists of:

• Powder tank: above the dosing cylinder

• Dosing cylinder: it is filled with the granules up to the
edge, then the granules are levelled using a scraping
device without breaking them.
• Valve: below each dosing cylinder
• Funnels / Conveyors: they are located between the
cylinder and the bottle to fill.
After the scraping the valve underneath opens and the
powder falls first in the funnels then into the bottles.
FX SERIES: powder
compression with dosing needles
MORE ABOUT FX SERIES
Operation

 The piston of the powder compression system is

movable.
 The piston goes down compressing the powder
inside the needle on the tank bottom so to create a
compact powder tablet.
 The piston rises slightly.
 The needle is able to hold the powder while moving
towards the container to dose.
 The powder ejection is mechanical, due to the
piston movement, and the ejection is made after
the needle has been introduced into the final
container (vial, bottle or cap).

The dosing unit in these machines consists of : Advantages of our system

MORE ABOUT FY SERIES
Operation
 The dosing needle moves vertically down to the
powder working tank
 The needle enters the powder with a slight suction
 The suction in this case (unlike the system with disk),
serves to let the air out and not to take the powder.
 There is nothing that passes over the vials to dose,
just the needles, since the tank is placed under the
vials path.
 The powder is then ejected with a minimal air jet into
the vial.

The dosing unit consists of: Advantages

• vacuum pressure pistons and dosing  Combining the advantages of the needle movement with those
needles of vacuum/pressure, a dosing system with innovative features is
• Powder main tank obtained, in which there is almost no particles generation.
• powder working tank with constant level  With the needle system you need very little vacuum / suction for

CG SERIES: capping machines

All our dosing machines can be

equipped with single or multiple
capping stations to handle any kinds
of caps: flip-off caps, screw caps,
ROPP, child –proof, dosing glasses,
spray pump, droppers and so on.
The capping area can be separated
from the dosing area by
polycarbonate panels.
The caps feeders can be set either
inside or outside the machine hood.
Each cap feeding vibrator can be
Advantages: connected to an automatic cap
• High production capacity with a minimum footprint feeding system.
• Customized capping system based on cap features
CG SERIES: blade sealing
machine
Sealing machine with fixed blade
system, where the bottle rotates on
itself and moves forward following a
motion in the shape of a semicircle.

The bottle is kept under pressure

from above and below by two
plates: here the sealing of the alu-
cap takes place around the bottle
neck.

Production speed: up to 30.000

bottles / hour.

Advantages:
• Latest state-of-the-art technology for vial sealing after filling with injectable drugs
• Ranked Class B of sterility due to least particle generation
• Longer blade to carry out a “high cosmetic” sealing level
FL SERIES: liquid filling machines from 100 to 500 pcs/min.
The liquid dosing systems based on the physical liquid characteristics, production speed and quantity to fill, are:
1. Peristaltic pumps
2. Syringes
3. Mass flowmeter dosators
4. Magnetic inductive flowmeter dosators
Note: each machine can therefore be equipped with one of the aforementioned dosing systems depending on the technical
specifications
MORE ABOUT FL SERIES

Advantages:

We make use of bottles movements that gather bottles in groups, then we fill the them simultaneously,
even up to 16 bottles at a time, while at machine infeed and outfeed the bottles are transported in
continuous motion.

With this combination of intermittent and continuous motion we can maintain high speeds while
carrying out high dosages as well as many operations on the bottles.
