Federal Government College,

The Honourable Minister,
Federal Ministry of Education,
Abuja.
Dear Sir,
CHALLENGES AFFECTING OUR SCHOOL AND MEASURES THIS
PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED
First of all, I will like to thank you for your astounding public service to our great
nation through the mandate of your office. My name is Oyaghiri Desire Daima, a
student of Federal Government College and I’m in JSS1G. I am writing this letter
to inform you about the challenges in our school and measures the government can
take care of such problems.
Initially, the issue of security with the properties of boarders is a concern to
the school. Properties of students get missing on a daily basis, either by theft or
being misplaced by the students themselves. Students schooling materials are
reportedly missing several times. A reasonable measure to this problem is the
installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) to monitor the properties of
students.
Also, poor facilities and the lack of basic amnesties affects students.
Facilities such as the school toilets and laboratory equipments are in bad shape.
The amnesties such as food water are not hygienic for the students. Infections and
malnutrition are the threat provided by these poor facilities and unhygienic foods.
Students are likely to steal from each other, senior students are likely to bully
junior students for more food. Ill-fated cases are bound to occur in a quest to
survive and this may affect the student physically or mentally. The government
should provide the funds to provide basic amnesties and standard facilities.
Thirdly, our school has faced challenges in producing bright students,
students from our school do not perform well in competition with other schools;
domestically or abroad. This challenge is from the academic sector, with lack of
experienced teachers and poor laboratories. The tutors in the school teach subjects
they have little or no information about. The laboratories in our school cannot be
used for standard practicals. The students do complain because it really affect them
especially in external examinations. The government should provide experienced
and learned teachers together with adequate and standard laboratory.
In conclusion, I look forward to your quick response as you take this into
consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Desire.
