The word "Constitution" is derived from the verb to "constitute"
which according to the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, means,
among other things, "to set up, ordain, appoint, frame, form,
make up or compose". The term constitution therefore literally
means the action of constituting, framing or establishing
something. A national constitution therefore is defined by the
same dictionary as: "The system or body of fundamental
principles according to which a nation, state or body politic is
constituted and governed." A constitution is the most
important law of a nation or state because it allocates the

“A Constitution is, broadly, a set of rules, written or unwritten,
that seek to establish the duties, powers and functions of the
various institutions of government; regulate the relationships
between the state and the individual.” (Heywood, 2013)

“Constitutions are (usually) written texts … that were adopted

The nature of a Constitution can be define as the
relationship of the government and its people. Each
state have their own version of Preamble and Articles
which makes their constitution unique. It's not
acceptable to have a state to exist without a
constitution defining the relationship of the people who
govern the state and people who completed the state
itself.

“The 1987 Constitution is a codified or written

constitution setting out the framework for the
