1) What are your expectations for this subject?

I expect that we shall be provided with sufficient learning materials and easily
comprehensible discussions so we could fully grasp the subject. Moreover, I expect that our
instructor would be understanding and considerate in terms of giving and addressing
deadlines for assessments and other future concerns; that she would be thorough in
teaching so we could learn all the basic principles of this subject and learn how to apply this
knowledge not just in terms of assessments and exams, but also in real-life situations and
problems.

2) What comes to mind for the word "Hospital Pharmacy"?

The first thing that comes to my mind is that it is hospital-based where all the compounding,
dispensing, and stocks are limited only to the said location. During my immersion, Hospital
pharmacy was the one that motivates me to be a pharmacist, in which this set-up amazes
me the most because of the broad spectrum it has to offer. It is not just simply about
medicines, thus it is beyond prescription, it is about the care that they give to their patients,
how they handle to multi-task and how passionate pharmacists are to counsel a patient.

3) Who is the first recognized practitioner hospital Pharmacist?

- Jonathan Roberts was the first licensed hospital pharmacist, or the first employed
pharmacist, hired in 1752. He is an apprentice doctor like other primary hospital
pharmacists.

- The founders of Dr. Pennsylvania Hospital, Thomas Bond and Benjamin Franklin, were the
first hospital pharmacists dedicated to caring for the poor and insane that roamed the streets
of Philadelphia.
