OPERATION DIXMUDE.

Dear Simmer,

Before you start reading this story, and begin this campaign , I want to write a
couple worlds I feel are absolute necessity. First, I must inform you that all the Polychop
team , starting with yours truly , would like you to have fun as much (or even , dare I say,
more) in flying on this campaign that we had fun to create.

This campaign is the result of a long process in writing the script. To get the
maximum benefit, you must know the ins and outs , and above all , prepare your flights
carefully with the briefings that are provided below. Learn the briefings well and be
prepared for the unexpected.

It is also imperative that you are accustomed to the use of all systems of the
Gazelle. This is the very purpose of this campaign, the night operations , some of which
have a starting point or Fleet arrival . We treated this campaign like the real thing, so
don't expect an hand holding.

This campaign is playable in multiplayer up to 4 people, up to mission 7.

In recent years, even in recent months, the DCS World simulator has entered a
new phase , which I would call on my part of " development ". The objective of this
work is to give a taste , to lay the foundations of what we all wish to see one day an
immersive campaign. Although the tools provided in the mission editor fail to faithfully
recreate a complex and extensive operation as that described here , a great effort has
been focused on screenwriting , too, and although ambitions displayed is limited by the
architecture of the simulator, and by compromises in terms of gameplay , we really hope
you enjoy the work done , the fruit of many hours of hard work.

Thanking you for your purchase of our Gazelle. I wish you , with tears in my
eyes and a heavy heart , to have pleasant flights.

Nicolas Michel « White-Sky/Dimitriov »

P.S : almost forgot : Good luck , you 're going to need some.

September 2003

It was now 6 years that the Caucasus was ablaze . The fall of the USSR was often
a source of instability in the former Soviet republics . But Georgian’s case is unique in
many ways.

Caught between Turkey , the main military power in the southern sector of the
Black Sea, and Russia, which never ceases to gaze wistfully its former territories , this
small country is the subject of much envy. Since some time , a significant share of oil and
gas trades to Europe , passes through Georgia, and this is indeed why we found
ourselves operating in this area.

In 1997, after many years of tough negotiations between the

Ossetians and Abkhaz separatists , backed by Russia , and the Georgian government,
Caucasus sank again into civil war . At the beginning, the West, as usual, did not invest
great interest in this conflict. The Western populations were monitoring the situation only
through rare dispatches that had to keep repeating what everyone already knew : the
situation seemed inextricable. In fact, and to the deep disinterest of the Western peoples ,
the country sank slowly in fear, and hate. The separatists , supported materially by the
Russian Federation , managed to gradually gain ground on Georgian government, until
they end up committing the unforgivable to the eyes of the West.

Abkhazians , located in western Georgia , launched in summer 1999 a series of

raids against oil and gas infrastructures, many of which belong to European groups. On
August 29, 1999 at 14:30 , a violent explosion shook the offices of Total's headquarters ,
located in the center of Kutaisi. The balance sheet, disastrous , allowed to

3
highlight the total inaction of the European powers before a conflict now taking a turn
more unpleasant . 63 French , 14 British and eight Germans lost their lives that day.

Public opinion strongly moved by this attack , began to express a desire to

resolve the situation once and for all . This was clearly not displeasing to politicians, who
saw a very dim view of the threat posed by the Abkhaz militia for national interests. The
first reaction was, therefore , of course, to make deliveries of equipment to the
Georgians. From the assault rifles to the fighter , through tanks, the entire European
community joined the trading table. But soon they had to face the facts : The Georgians
were losing the war.

After meeting the different Heads of Western States, at the European summit of
22 January 2000 , it was decided to promote the emergence of a new player , in the heart
of territory controlled by the Abkhaz . Long deprecated and persecuted for his beliefs ,
the Tatar community was once again attacked . The various European states therefore
decided to give them the opportunity to defend themselves, and even one day perhaps,
to attack.

In truth , saying at the time that the Tatars would become what they are 3 years
later would have raised a challenge. However, one day perhaps, will recount the news
that the intelligence services had everything planned . Everything is possible in this kind
of field, it does not actually exist unexpected . Anyway, the evening of April 21, 2000 ,
Tartars rose against the Abkhaz militia. The numerous clashes that resulted from this
were only the beginnings of a major conflict that would find denouement in 2004 ,
following the Battle of the Plains of Gori. But we have all the time to look in detail on
the latter...

4
Tatars began hostilities in the Gudauta region , and soon they took the lead .
There was nothing surprising in it , the majority of Abkhaz forces being concentrated on
the Georgian front, more than 150 kilometers away. The Georgian government took
advantage of this moment of doubt in the minds of Abkhazians to launch a broad attack
against to recapture the town of Senaki , which fell at the beginning of the year.
Meanwhile , Tatars began a tremendous growth through enemy territory , favoring
coastal areas. Agreed to or not, they inquired to make Europeans monitoring the various
oil and gas companies in the area , means of course a generous reward.

In summer 2000 , the Abkhazians had lost Gudauta , and the Tatars were
approaching Sukhumi . Senaki was back in the hands of Georgians, Russians and despite
the efforts , which we suspected a time deployment of special forces, the enemy was
forced to retreat to shorter boundaries. The situation stabilized until March 2001, the
Abkhaz controlling a territory stretching from the city of Zugdidi to Sukhumi , and
Tatars consolidating their positions in favor of winter.

But May 18, 2001 , however , a new page turned . With financial resources even
more important, the spending on military service were smaller, made less necessary than
at the beginning of the year. The front line against the Georgians , Abkhazians had
promoted the development of international, gradually disseminated within all the
enemies of "the cause" . Later that evening , an explosion shook the disco Dance Royal
Cambridge. The dead were counted in dozens . Europe , shaken by the attack , appeared
in a moment beset by doubt. Would some barrels of oil justify the death of citizens in
their own territory? The response from the British Prime Minister was final. A
detachment of the RAF would immediately be sent to Turkey in order to conduct strikes
against Abkhazians . This deployment was followed a few weeks later by sending a
squadron of the French Air Force.

5
Now, two major military actors in the European Union were committed against
Abkhazians.

There followed a long and tiring media campaign , the obvious goal was to
consolidate the European populations in this new war. With the appointment of a
common enemy, and especially present on the territories of the old continent. .
Emboldened by all symbolic strikes carried out by the UK and France, the Georgians
launched early July 2001 in a new offensive , which ended in a crushing defeat at the
Battle of Zugdidi , during which armored Georgians accured 130 losses, and lost nearly
2000 men , their flank having were overwhelmed by the 3rd Abkhazian mechanized
Regiment.

This episode made Europeans aware that while they faced terrorist groups on
their soil, it was an army , and duty stated that they help Georgians on the ground.

Yet the Georgian defeat was quickly eclipsed by a new event, coming from the
outside of the conflict, but that would change the face in the eyes of world opinion. At
precisely 8:46 local time , Tuesday, September 11, 2001 , a Boeing 767 of American
Airlines crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York. Barely
20 minutes and a second flight later, the world gazed with amazement America hit hard
by terrorism. A new enemy had seen the day , Islamic terrorism, and declared war on the
world . From then on, it seemed more and more difficult for the European states to
maintain their assistance to the Tatars. However, and despite the protests of a part of the
international community , European strikes continued to target only the Abkhazians and
the delivery of arms, now through Turkey , continued.

6
Tatars launched an offensive , later than the Georgians , which would otherwise
have had to fear redeployment Abkhaz armored forces on the western front. But it
turned out that despite their victory in Zugdidi , they were out of combat . October 19 at
15:30 , the flag of the new Tatar Caliphate floated over the town hall , among the
remaining ruins of the city of Sukhumi . This act riased enormous problems regarding
financial and material support that was given to him . Even as the war against Islamism
rose in power, Europe was assisting one of its clearest manifestations.

On the ground, the Abkhazians , locked in their positions to the east and the city
of Zugdidi. Beginning in February 2002 , having strengthened their positions , Tatars
relaunched a storm , which hit Abkhazians armored forces. The balance was disastrous ,
and Tatars found themselves on the defensive in their new bastion of Sukhumi . At the
same time , the European intervention in the Caucasus saw aid melt while the Americans,
helped by the British, were preparing an offensive against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. The
Caucasus no longer interested people for about eight months.

It was not until 14 November 2002 that the Tatars regained ground , however
briefly . After a campaign of almost 8 weeks Caliphate forces entered the town of
Ochamchira hinge , which reduced to the state of ruin by the incessant artillery barrages
from both camps. A series of scandals splashed the win, the amount of civilian casualties
increasing to nearly 12 000 people. It was not until the discovery of the mass grave of
Sukhumi , in which were counted no less than 430 bodies, that calmed the mind as the
methods used by the Tatars to impose their new scheme to local people. Taking
advantage of this situation, the Russian Federation launched a series of strikes by air and
sea on the Tatars forces. The latter, forced to bury to escape the eyes of the VVS , could
not continue their advance towards Gali, yet well underway.

7
Just three weeks after the start of Russians strikes on the morning of February
12, 2003, the Georgian air force shot down a Russian Air Force Sukhoi-24 , while driving
a strike on Ochamchira. This latest incident, one more among many others since the
beginning of this war, failed to set fire to the powder. But Russia was not yet ready to
intervene militarily in Georgia, especially in the strengthening of the anti-air cover,
permitted by the European aid, prevented any major operation above Georgian territory.
Decision was made by the General Staff of Russia to momentarily stop the raids on the
Tatar territory. At the same time, the French Air Force launched a series of raids against
key city of Gali, which if it were to fall, would block the Abkhazians in the Zugdidi
region, on the other side of river separating the two cities. They would then find
themselves caught in the middle, on a territory of only 80 kilometers from east to west,
under the constant fire of Georgian artillery and Tatars. In other words, the conflict in
Western Georgia would end abruptly for them.

After four weeks of intensive raids , totaling nearly 2,000 outlets across all
devices, the French government had to realize the obvious: aviation would not defeat the
Abkhazians . It would be on site . However, from the willingness of leaders to the
agreement of the people, there remained a big step . It was , to our misfortune , the
Abkhazians to allow France , and Europe , to overcome this obstacle . May 11 , 2003,
almost two years to the day after the bombing of Cambridge, an unprecedented wave of
attacks shook the French territory. The cities of Montpellier, Toulouse and Paris , were
the scene of a series of hostage-taking, including one conducted in a University. Despite
the action of intervention forces , the balance was terrible. 231 people died on the whole
territory.

Before a National Assembly in shock, President of the Republic had to resolve to

enforce Article 16 of the Constitution, and declared the state of emergency on the entire
territory . For the first time since the war in Algeria , France knew the curfew, and the
armed forces were deployed in all major cities. France was at total war. Two days after
the attacks , a raid involving 37 Mirage deployed in Turkey knocked Zugdidi . At the
same time , the national territory , reservists were called up , and an expeditionary force
of 12,000 men was formed . France will not send a little armored to Georgia , however ,
part of its fleet sailed to the Black Sea , carrying in its hold a detachment of the 3rd
Regiment of Combat Helicopters of the Army, accounting for 30 Gazelle Viviane Hot.
In solidarity, the United Kingdom decided to deploy a group of 4 Ah-64D, a detachment
of heavy armor, and a squadron of Tornados of the RAF. On the way to the front, and
determined to avenge that terrible aggression, European forces were joined by a
detachment of the US Sixth Fleet, while a battlegroup involving 2,000 men, 80 tanks, and
about thirty helicopters ch-47D and Uh-60 the 160th SOAR, leaving the Iraqi theater to
Turkey for a landing in Sukhumi. Unable to continue to refuse to participate in the
conflict in Iraq, French President organized the dispatch of a force of 18 Mirage-2000D
to lend a hand to the coalition. The French armed forces were now on the verge of
logistics break. Given this chain of events, no one seemed to pay attention to the fact
that Gali had fallen into the hands of Tatars.

8
They were obviously embarrassed to see that the West had finally woke up , and
before the massive deployment that now organized on their soil, had no other choice but
to agree to cooperate with NATO. However, and due to recent events in the Middle
East , tensions appeared quickly inevitable, tensions even more strengthened by the
enduring hatred entertained by the leaders of this so-called Caliphate against Western
powers.

That day , September 3, 2003 , we set foot on land in Gudauta . Tomorrow we

would revenge our brothers and sisters.

Mission diary, Phoenix-1, 3rd HCR.

Mission 1 : Morning flight.

September 4th 2003.

09:00

We just arrived, but already it seems that the Command Staff is sending us
on assignment. Our campaign code has been set. We will be the Phoenix- 1 flight . The
entire GAM detachment will be dispatched on the different fronts of the Caucasus.
Currently , for the Abkhaz front, we are 16 Gazelles . The train was a little difficult to
follow, we must say that the logistics are put to the test . Organize the deployment of 30
helicopters , the fleet, and the Air Force , while at the same time a deployment is
conducted in Iraq, it is not so obvious.

Anyway, we are the last to take off this morning. HQ has affected us to the
command squad , we will fly with Meatboy -1, a british Apache. We met last night when
we arrived in Sukhumi , these guys do not seem to be joking . Luckily, we're not here for
humor. From what we have heard , these pilots there are hard guys , and their
commander , which will be reported to fly as our main wingman during our presence
here , even fought in the Gulf War.

We take off from the FARP Paris, close to the AB of Sukhumi . Armed with
2 HOT on us , and all the necessary kit in case something happens . Normally, our flight
plan takes us across the entire Tatar territory. We will initially escort Sluggy -1, a Ch- 47
of 160th SOAR who must file troops close Ochamchira . US mechanized group ,
Hammer- 1 is waiting for us , and ensure deployment of GIs.

Once the troops are deployed , the Meatboy -3 flight will take over and
escort Sluggy -1 for his return to Paris . For our part, we continue our flight plan, which
we will pass near the town of Gali , which faces the river, and in Zugdidi , controlled by
the enemy. Will open your eyes , there's a lot of enemy incursions in the area, including
armored . Abkhazians have got hold of some movable bridges , they settle for the night ,
just for some armor to cross, and then remove them. The area is not particularly quiet .
After passing Gali , we will leave to the West, and land on the FARP London to refuel.

Since the FARP London is still under construction , we take off

again towards Paris , by the sea. A simple familiarization flight to get aquinted
with the area.

10
11
Mission 2 : Night burglary.

September 14th 2003

02 : 00

Orders fell. Tonight we attack the Abkhazians . We will make them pay
dearly for our deads. The entire Caucasus -West Group is mobilized with Meatboy-1 and
Meatboy-2. Tonight , 16 Gazelles and 4 Apaches will hit the enemy in the heart . Our
target is an infantry camp with enemy logistics and an artillery battery Bm- 21
Grad , both located south of Zugdidi

Strela-1 SAM type likely , with lots of 23mm . Abkhazians A/A defences are
modestly equipped, at least against fighters. We are flying low enough to stay safe.

We will take-off from the FARP London, with Meatboy -1 . We will first go
to the Bashura forest landing and waiting area (WP2 ) . We land there, and wait for the
green light from Meatboy -1.

Once the green light , we'll go to our observation waypoints,WP5 . The artillery
group Martel will begin to pound enemy lines , while a detachment of the Ukrainian
aviation will launch a diversionary attack on Zugdidi itself . From our side, Hannibal , an
US JTAC will be in radio contact with us. He has a drone , it will illuminate us all
important laser targets and threats.

12
Meatboy-2 will be in charge of the extreme North flank and cross the road of
any reinforcement from Zugdidi . Phoenix-3 and Phoenix-4 will take care to cover our
immediate north side , and remove possible AA who would be on our way. Phoenix-2
will do the same on our southern flank.

When we advance to the camp , Hannibal should designate to save time. We

destroy the AA defense and potential armored . Aviation will handle the rest . Then we
advance, and locates the artillery. We know they wander somewhere east of the camp, in
a fairly wide area. Hannibal will help us locate. Once found , Attack, and RTB. We have
a playtime on area of roughly 30 minutes, so no time to waste.

Summary :

1) Take-off from London, land at the landing and wait area of the
Bashura forest (WP2).
2) Take-off when ordered, go to the observation point (WP5).
3) Wait for Hannibal to designate the camp and others begin
their attack.
4) Go to the camp, destroy AA defenses and eventual armored.
5) Seek and destroy the artillery.
6) RTB London.

13
Mission 3 : An opponent hides another.

September 15th

01:00

Abkhazians was shaken well last night, and it seems they quickly re o ered .
Indeed , it seems clear now that they were preparing for a while. Our assault reinforced
the enemy idea that his survival depended on the river crossing . There is an hour,
our forward observers confirmed that the 3rd Mechanized Regiment , the same one
that crushed the Georgians in Zugdidi of the battle in 2001, had set the battle in array
in order to cross the river.

We cannot lose Gali. Tartar forces for reasons that totally escape our Staff, were
scattered throughout the territory over the past week. Gali is not able to face an assault.
We will take off the FARP London, and fly there directly.

HQ dispatched US emergency armored detachment callsign Hammer. We met

two weeks ago in Ochamchira . He will defend the only bridge connecting the two
banks . Whole Group is mobilized . From our side, with Meatboy -1 and Phoenix- 2,
we will be placed in ambush in our WP3 observation , west of the bridge, and we will
keep ready to receive them.

Threats level, Shilka and Strela- 1 are expected. Hannibal will be there to
point us the enemy groups , although quite frankly, his usefulness is uncertain.

14
The enemy deployment exceeds 80 tanks. Phoenix -3 and -4 will be in charge of
attacking the east bank of the river , south of the bridge to eliminate the lines of enemy
defenses , to go up north and flank the Abkhazian load. As for Meatboy -2, HQ intends
to take advantage of the chaos to do around the battle area by the South, and hit the
enemy emergency deposit, they obviously plan to use in case of fold.

From our side, we embark 4 HOT , so, in regards of the deployed troops facing
us, we will surely go rearm and refuel in London in the middle of the battle. We
will have to hurry. If we break the Abkhaz offensive , Georgians will attack in the east,
and take Zugdidi . This is our only chance to win a quick victory.
Summary :

1) Take-off from London, go to the brige protection point at WP3.

2) Support the ground troops and target first the armored and ATGM equipped
armored.
3) When out of ammunition, inform Meatboy-1, and RTB alone to rearm at
London.
4) Do it the number of time it needs until the enemy offensive is stopped.

15
Mission 4 : Early departure.

September 15th 2003

05:00

It seems that our Staff has now understood why the Tatars were scattered on the
whole territory instead of defending Gali . Words cannot describe such treachery. Within
an hour , the cities of Ochamchira , Sukhumi and Gali were raised. Surprise attacks
took place throughout the West Caucasus area. The losses toll rises by the minute.

The Tatars took advantage while we were busy destroying their true enemy to
stab us in the back . It happens that their armored potential is more important than
Abkhazians . On the whole territory , it is 400 vehicles, besides their helicopters.

We leave the Sukhumi AB. The decision was taken to emergency fetching as
much material as possible to the Fleet, Gudauta AB and the hinterland of Sukhumi
city. From our side, we will have to protect the evacuation

3 C-17, 4 Ch-47D, and 12 Uh-60 will be responsible for clearing the material of the
Sukhumi AB. The rest will make their way by road to Sukhumi city.

16
The operation this morning will take place in two phases.

Phase 1

First , we will take off from the FARP Paris , to eliminate an artillery battery
Bm- 21 Grad type located east of the base. It is being put in place. We will do an
emergency take-off. Phoenix-4 went for a strike in the area two hours ago, he did not
return. 30 minutes ago we sent Meatboy -2 , and Phoenix- 3-5, obviously they were
hooked. But they all fit.
There's a high density of AAA and SAM in the area, Shilka and Strela -10
types. Will have to act quickly, because the Tatars attacks were reported as 40 or even 30
minutes from the base . We eliminate the artillery, and return to Paris refuel and
rearm. If one fails , the entire evacuation will be compromised. The C-17 cannot resist a
direct hit from a 122mm rocket. After our visit, Paris will be evacuated from the front.

Summary :

1) Take-off from Paris, head East, destroy the arty battery

2) RTB Paris as fast as possible, rearm and refuel.

If we are back safe, then we will see Phase-2 with our own eyes.

17
Phase-2

Luckily, it turns out that Hammer could cross enemy lines at night. They set up
an ambush on the main road to the base from the East. For its part, Kilo, UK
mechanized group, is responsible for covering the north side of the attack. With
Phoenix- 2-3-5 and Meatboy -1-2 , you will be responsible for covering these two
groups against the Tatars attacks . We will place our WP5 ambush , and wait for enemy
armored. We'll have to keep them at bay until the base has been evacuated.

Effective level , we would have preferred not to have numbers. Most of the
armored enemies converge to us. Their number is estimated on the East and North
offensives , nearly 250. Our aviation is not idle , but our capabilities are not sized to
cope with such assault.

As soon as the last transport took off, Kilo and Hammer will fold , and open
and shut respectively the flight for such subsidiary supply items that have not been
evacuated . For us it will be RTB on the fleet and Sukhumi city for other groups.

Take on the max amount of HOT for this mission, and we will stick to it
after refueling in Paris.

Summary :

1) From Paris, go to our ambush point WP5 vertical of Hammer.

2) When ordered, Fire at will.
3) When out of ammo, stay alive until final evacuation order
Then, RTB the Fleet.

18
Mission 5 : In the lion's mouth.

Octobre 3rd 2003

01 : 00

Tonight , we shuffle the cards again. HQ gave us a daring mission . Indeed , we

are very likely not to return . It will be a low level flight , with us Meatboy -1 , and Sluggy
-1, a Sh- 60 that will accompany us in IMEX ( immediate extraction ) in case one of us
would be shot. Take 2 HOT . The situation in Tatar territory has considerably
deteriorated , most of the operations are conducted from the Fleet, and the FARP Rome
city of Sukhumi . Our logistics are out of breath , and morale is low. Faced with this
fact , we must bring the enemy to our level. Tonight , we strike the enemy in the heart.

Our goal is an enemy logistics convoy that winds through the mountains
to Sukhumi city . It's hard to hold our positions there, losing the city is having to fall
back on our positions Gudauta , as saying lose the war. On the whole area , we are the
3rd flight out on this mission , Phoenix -2 has already left the FARP Rome located west
of Sukhumi city half an hour ago, and Phoenix- 5 and Meatboy-2 from Gudauta , to
another convoy coming from the north of the city , 15 minutes ago. No news for now,
anyway better focus on our goal.

For us, it may be hot . We'll have to pass close to the former Sukhumi AB,
where a battery of Sa- 8 Osa was established. Arrived at 15 km from our WP1 , we
pass under 10m / Ground , and we will stick to it until WP8.

19
Our flight plan will make us meander through coastal SAM and AAA defenses set up by the
Tatars . Depart from 100 meters to the left or right, and that's the glitch.

Normally, we should soon have the Osa at the DRAX -33 , so we will know what
to expect. For cons , the shilkas prevent at the last moment , we will show maximum
vigilance , and follow the WP in a synched manner. The intel provided us with a
satellite imagery of the area ( next page ), however, it turns out that it is dated last
week, and Osa were not yet present. It is estimated that they are situated in a circle
around one kilometer from the base. It is also highly likely that a combination of Strela
-10 protects . In short: no way to approach.

The British Tornados to SEAD will only arrive next week. And Ukrainians
who have been delegated this role are not available either.

Once the area has passed, we can get in position to our WP9 observation . The
convoy is expected to move to the point of interception to 01h20 accurate in all cases
according to the information provided by our information area. For us , that means an
average speed of 180 Km / h for the entire flight until WP9. Because of SAM coverage
of the area and the proximity with Russia, we can not send them airstrike.

20
21
From our side, we will arrange to eliminate, in order, the convoy radio
transmission truck, it's a Ural PBU model, then comes the convoy AA defense of
unknown composition. Meatboy -1 will then be responsible for destroying the convoy
itself. Our ambush point ( WP 9 ) lies upstream the road through which the convoy will
come, at 3.5 km , so HOT range. We will draw from here , no need to get closer.

Once the convoy engaged, we will resume our flight plan between our WP13 and
WP15 , we will follow the river, we were informed of AAA deployed on two villages
upstream . The rest of the trip will be in very low altitude.

In the last part of the flight plan , we will fly upstream the city of Sukhumi .
Same, maximum vigilance , there's quite a AA in the entire sector , and helicopters were
reported , Mi -24, in the surrounding mountains. Hope not to meet them.

We will land at FARP Rome, located west of Sukhumi city.

Summary :

1) Take-off from the Fleet, when ordered go lower than 10 m/Ground. Follow
closely the flight plan until observation point WP 9.
2) Wait for the convoy at WP9, sight the road, planned time around
01 : 20. Target the Ural PBU radio truck and AAAs.
3) Meatboy destroy the rest. Back to flight plan, Very low,
full speed, until Roma FARP.

22
Mission 6 : Urban fights.

October 14th 2003

01 : 35
It is now a fortnight we managed to cut the Tatars forces of their logistics in the
center of Sukhumi . Aviation has done a lot of work , and the reinforcements sent by the
Coalition have doubled the number of devices we have in the air. Tatars armored forces
are feeling the pinch , they managed to stash a maximum of vehicles in garages of the
city, and even directly into homes . As for Abkhazians , Georgians have finished for
good with them last week and resumed Zugdidi. Tatars commit the same mistake as their
old enemies , and focused the majority of their forces in the Sukhumi region. Georgians
have benefited, and have launched a major offensive to cross the river . Armored entered
yesterday morning in Gali , with no shots being fired.

Tatars have neither ammunition nor fuel , and men fall one after the other in our
shots. From our side, it 's the opposite , our logistics is a higher level since we arrived in
the region. Tonight, we'll retake the city in its entirety. The operation we are preparing to
launch the first NATO offensive since the start of this campaign. This will not be the
last. Tatars forces are exhausted, with the advantage of darkness, we will have no
difficulty in crushing them. They may be recovered tanks from Abkhazians , but their
NVG stock is quite low.

Our mission will hold two goals. To prepare the ground for our
ground troops, we will first visit the hills north of the city. our
advanced scouts have located an artillery battery . Aviation could have done
load , but the city is still defended by a battery of SA- 8 Osa . They are smart ,
they wait patiently for destruction scope to light and shoot it
which makes everything SEAD impossible if everyone is not synched.

HQ counting on us to set Tatars on alert. By attacking this position, there's a good

chance they are trying to shoot us . Our SEAD airplanes fly over the area , and are
adorned shooting at the slightest spark . The area itself where the artillery is located is
located in a valley between two hills , reachinf without jeopardizing will not be particularly
easy . In the area of defense , Strela- 1, 23mm AA, likely Shilka . We lost touch with our
scouts while we informed of the arrival of a light armored convoy . It seems it's still there.
Our 4 HOT should suffice. Already , we will not have to worry about firing on our troops
and heavy SAM of the city have been destroyed.

After the battery is processed, we get back on the FARP Rome, for refueling
and rearm. From there we will leave to the west of Sukhumi with Sluggy-1, which will
deliver pedestrians to the Hammer group. Hammer will take the offensive, he separate
into two groups : Hammer-1, in the north, where we have to load the protection, and
Hammer-2, which will run along the coast, and will be under the protection of a A-10C
patrol. Their goal is to take the enemy in a pincer movement through the city,
severing his back , and make junction to the east end of the town .

It is expected thirty armored vehicles in the area, with the added bonus of air
defense , which the city is saturated . In the program, Manpad , Strela-1, Strela-10 and
all that can have a been pointed skyward. Hammer will rapidly advance its objectives, it
will be quick in processing, priority given to heavy armor and armored carrying the
ATGM . No need to worry about flak . Apart from Shilkas , the rest is blind at night,
and will be destroyed very quickly by Hammer.

24
Once the connection made , Hammer will reposition protecting roads that
access the city in case of counter-attack from Tatars that are scattered in the surrounding
villages . Phoenix-2 and Phoenix-3 will relay us to protect these axes. From our side, we
will keep the area under control by the time Hawk, a group of Uh- 60 , deployed our
special forces in the city to secure the key points . As soon as Hawk finished , it is to
RTB .

25
Summary :

1) Take-off from Roma, go to WP3, destroy artillery and air defenses.

2) RTB Roma, rearm full HOT, take-off with Sluggy unload troops near
Hammer-1.
3) Hammer-1 and Hammer-2 go in town, first at the North following the
main road axis, second by the South along the coast.
4) A-10C destroy vehicles along Hammer-2's path at the coast.

5) We focus the armored east of the town along Hammer-1's path. Lots of AA
but we destroy armored first.

6) Hammer-1 and Hammer-2 inform us when they reach their junction point.
7) Hawk flight unload troops east of the town, we cover them.
8) Once Hawk done, RTB Roma.

Mission 7 : Game Over

Octobre 21st 2003

23 : 00

The Tatars are trying to get crushed . It is never good to go after somone bigger
than oneself. The Georgians down all their lines with ease , Ochamchira is under fire
from their artillery , and is about to fall . Our aviation made a carnage in their ranks in
the plains east of Gali . Their vehicles piled up in mass on the roads , two thirds of our
reserves were swayed to them overnight. The Tatars are desperate, they retreated in
disarray toward the interior of their territory , and improvised a line of defense involving
a hundred vehicles and two thousand men to the west of the Sukhumi base.

HQ's objective is simple: at dawn, the NATO flag shall be flown on Sukhumi AB,
and FARP Paris . Speaking of that , their helicopter resources are now nonexistent.
Phoenix-2 is on a mission before yesterday with Meatboy-2 , they located their FARP,
and reduced it to ashes. Our offensive will mobilize all resources deployed in the region.
Our battle group floor consists of a UK-US mix, HQ decided to deploy our heavy armor
to face the defense line . You can count on 30 tanks, which is quite low , but should be
enough to shake up what remains after aviation made its office.

27
The groups Hammer and Kilo will move along the coast directly on the line of
defense. They will be covered by Phoenix-3-5-6, Meatboy-2 and our A-10C and
Tornados detachement. From our side, we will take advantage of the chaos to sneak us
behind the line of defense along the coast. Its SA-8 Osa battery still protects the base, a
SEAD flight therefore undertake to eliminate it shortly after takeoff from our Fleet. This
done, we will distribute the roles as follows :

Phoenix -2 will take care of eliminating the armored Tatars left in ambush on the
coast , according to Rens ', one expects a dozen vehicles , including BMP-2 , be careful
not to get too close , their 30 mm cannons would cut us in half instantly. As Meatboy-1
has the best missile range, he will be responsible for removing the tanks left in the back
in preparation for a counter-attack against our forces. Hia 16 Hellfire normally it should
be enough . From our side, we embark with 4 HOT , and we will undertake to remove
remaining air defenses of the base. Expect 23 mm , possible MANPADS , and certainly
Strelas . If one crosses armored in the base enclosure it will be treated as well, but first
SAMs . If all goes as planned, the accomplishment of our goals should coincide with the
opening of Kilo and Hammer in enemy lines .

We will also be wary of the highway that passes north of the base, it is expected
that the Tatars elements that survive in the ground offensive borrow it to fold.

28
Once our targets defeated, we will move vertical to the base, open to any shooting
opportunity. Sluggy Flights , Hawk, and Vodkow will drop men and material in order to
recover as quickly control infrastructure, and give us the opportunity to land for rearm
and refuel . At that time , it is expected that Hammer and Kilo are already taking position
for the base protection, on the same pattern as during its evacuation , namely Hammer to
the east and Kilo south. Once refueled , we will take the orders from HQ if they still need
us. If all goes as planned , our forces will be more distant than 30 kilometers of Georgian
troops , and Tatars have simply lost the war.

Summary :

1) take-off from the Fleet, along our path we should get confirmation of the
success of the SEAD mission (let's pray).
2) Meatboy-1 destroy armored North-East of the base. Phoenix-2 armored at
the coast. We focus AA defenses and armored located at the base.
3) In the meantime our assault should go through the enemy defense line.
4) Hawk, Sluggy, and Vodkov unload troops and material at the base.
5) After clearance, land and rearm/refuel.
6) Standby for orders.

Mission 8 : New playmates.

January 3rd 2004

10 : 30

The least we can say with the Caucasus is that we did not miss it. Following the
defeat of the Tatars, Georgians managed to annex the region. There's still some fighting
in the mountains, but nothing serious though. NATO has redeployed most of its forces
on the South Ossetian front. So we will take off the FARP Berlin, about fifty
kilometers from Tbilisi.

New theater, new problems. The Russians are much more active than three
months ago, and their armies are massed on the ossetian border. But that is HQ's
problem, for the moment, we start on a daytime patrol mission in the mountains along
the eastern border of Ossetia. The local militias are less equipped and reckless than the
Tatars or Abkhazians. But that may soon change with the Russians around. Not much
expected, fire at will on any confirmed militiaman, shooting prohibited at anything else,
unless otherwise ordered.

Our flight plan is quite long, and should challenge our machine, it will be in the
mountains, average altitude 1500 meters, a pass to cross on the return. We will pass
over NATO facilities, which are scattered at the discretion of the villages of the region.
Much more forces than in september, Germans and Spaniards joined the operation, and
even if their forces on area mainly confined to logistics, this is precisely what we needed
to face Tatars . Though besides, the Germans deployed an anti-aircraft regiment,
there are more Rolands and Guepards in this area than in whole Europe. They are
more than welcome.

From our side, the 6-12 Trooper was deployed, a detachment of 40 Leclercs
with the logistics behind. Everything is relative though, let's say they won't ride too
much. Payload level, light, 2 HOT, and max fuel that we can take with this conf.
Meatboy-1 already patrolled the area yesterday, he confirmed that it was fairly quiet.

Mission 9 : Passes, Shilkas, and fir.

Janvier 20th 2004

00 : 30

In 5 days, the Georgians will launch a lightning offensive on the city of

Tskinvali, which is the main access to South Ossetia. We do not know much. We are
responsible for escorting a Mi-8 flight call-sign Vodkov that will drop forward observers
behind enemy lines. We start from the FARP Berlin. Classic payload of 2 HOT.

This mission will be technical. We must not be spotted. Otherwise, everything

is ruined, and the unloaded staff will be compromised. It will be even hotter because of
the 3 Mi-8 ...They are not discreet. Well. We have three landing points. The first is
just west of the village of Leningori. It is located on the east side of the valley, unload
at the west side. From our side, we cover Vodkov and we spot the village and check any
danger. We shoot only to protect.

32
After the first landing area, we continue our flight plan, it will require
attention to the terrain. Between WP 7 and 9, we have a pass to go through, since we
will have to stay low before reaching it, we will have a vertical drop of about 700
meters. Maybe flying one or two loops. The alternative would be to anticipate and gain
altitude since WP6, the problem is that the Russians fly over the area. We will have to
decide, either the timing or security.

33
On the other side of the pass, we come to the landing area #2, we stay vertical to
the pass, Vodkov goes down, we cover from up there. Once Vodkov is done, we head to
the North, to go through a second pass on our WP 12. If one goes down with Vodkov at
landing area #2, then one will have to climb 800 meters again, clearly, we don't have
neither autonomy nor the time for this kind of flying, so, at the risk of repeating
ourselves, we remain vertical of the landing area #2, until it's done. Anyway the area is
too remote to meet a few people.

After the pass, we carefully follow our flight plan, it was considered for a time
to directly go from WP12 to WP15, but a local contact reported an ossetian
detachment settled down there. Once bypassed, we reach our landing area #3. Pay
close attention to the No Flight Zone west from there, we'll really need a major
trouble to be forced to go there, it's crawling with Shilkas, MANPADS, and SAM
Strela-type OSA, SA- 3, SA-6 etc ...

34
Once Vodkov unloaded his guys to drop #3, we head full south, we climb the
mountain (400 meters), and we get into the valley at the other side. Be careful about the
Kremo-Mahisi village. It is suspected that he has a AAA grouping. Also, the valley is
surrounded by mountain patrols, MANPADS to predict. The worst thing is that if we get
identified, we can not deploy, we will be short on fuel, and we can not put in danger
Vodkov. It is the last village on our route. Once we past, we can quietly RTB, distrusting
of the few burgs. We will land at FARP Warsaw.

Summary :

1) Take-off with Vodkov from Berlin.

2) Escort until landing area #1, check the Leningori village. Shoot only
to replicate.
3) After landing area #1, follow the flight plan, between WP7 and 9, climb 700
mètres.
4) We stay above to cover Vodkov while he drops at landing area #2.
5) When done, we go on, we go through a second pass at WP 12.
6) Strictly follow the flight plan
7) At drop #3, we cover.
8) Heading South, go through a pass, take care about the village, and
Manpads patrols.
9) RTB Warsaw.

Mission 10 : Great reporter.

January 24th 2004

00 : 45

Well, you get more than 24 hours before the attack is launched. We will
participate in the final preparations. Intel was able to tell us about the identity of the
damn patrol Kamov-50. And honestly, it did not reassure us. This is Patrol "Volks
Chechne" literally Chechnya Wolves. It is headed by one of the best elements of the
VVS, Commander Dimitriov Mikhailovsky. This guy has participated in all recent
conflicts in the region, and has field experience and more extensive guerilla operations as
ours, it has even been awarded the Order of Hero of the Russian Federation . In short,
he is a great man.

His last photo was before 1998 ... until tonight. We take off from the former
Warsaw FARP, renamed Dublin for a reason that still eludes us. The Georgian forces
are aligned alongside ours in the plains of Gori. All areas marked in yellow on the
map are covered by enemy forces. They understood what was going on and started to
gather at Tskhinvali.

The problem is that it turned out that the Russians have crossed the South
Ossetian border. It is not known where they are. Our mission tonight is to
determine the extent of their helicopter forces. Our forward observers were able to
determine the position of their main FARP. But they were spotted. We lost contact with
them for 24 hours after their last transmission, they were engaged by Volks.

36
We avoid any engagements in our entry area. We will have to be very careful,
arriving at our WP4, we will pass through the usual route of enemy logistics
helicopters. They barely took the time to make up the Russian flag on their cell. All
towns in the area are hostile and probably defended. We will arrive at our observation
WP8. From there we take on visual Tsru village, and look for what the Russians parked
in the hometown. We stay close to the ground, the enemy fighters permanently
overflight the border.

Once the mission completed, we go back to where we came. Our payload is

the same as usual: 2 HOT. We will land back in Dublin.

Summary :

1) take-off from Dublin.

2) We follow the flight plan, avoid the towns, we don't shoot at everything that
moves (with 2 HOT, it will be hard anyway).
3) We avoid the villages, take care around WP4-WP5, whenever some
helicopters appear there.
4) At observation WP 8. We look at Tsru, and tell what we see.

5) RTB Dublin using the same path.

37
Mission 11 : Face to face.

January 24th 2004

08 : 30
The Georgians were massacred. All of their armed forces had to fall back in
disaster behind the line drawn by our forces. In the night we redeployed much of our
troops to face the advancing Russians. Kimono was forced into retirement, to engage
some of their armored elements. We lost a Leclerc, for them a dozen T-80. It
remained that way.

The two blocks we are now facing in Gori plains, last nights battle will remain in
history. Georgians lost 230 vehicles and 4,000 men within hours. The Russian losses
are unknown, but are obviously of no comparison. The Volks launched an operation
there few hours ago, a dozen Kamov-50 has infiltrated our lines, and hit a Georgian
refueling center. HQ did not dare react by shooting. In Kimono's case, it was self-
defense, and now they should loose their best elements to defend the Georgians ... A
snowstorm has blocked any possibility of advance for the Russians. Since we have
a FLIR pod, we will take the opportunity to recce forces they have deployed. To the
heart of their territory.

38
Take-off from FARP Dublin, east of Gori. We move to the village of Karaleti,
located on our WP2, we check the village of Kitsnisi at 355 for 6 km from this position.
We count what we see. Then we go on our WP3, do the same for the village of Dzevera
at 021 for 4 km. Then comes the WP-4, and the village of Shindisi at 037 for 5 km.
During this phase, we will try to stick to the ground, not to be spotted by the
Russian radars, so we can continue the operation.

After the mission of these three objectives, we will leave following our flight
plan very low. North direction, doing our best to pass the plain. Possible detours if we
cross enemy vehicles. We continue on this path until WP-8. It will be a little hot, the
Russian SAM scattered on the road. But inevitably, they are less stupid than the Tatars in
their time. They turned off all radars. We could fly over a Tor without even seeing.

Between 250 and 400 heavy armored vehicles are estimated to be deployed in
the plain, and two full regiments of AA defense. That means Sa-15 Tor, Sa-8 Osa,
Sa-19 Tunguska, and probably Sa-11 Kub covering the area. In other words, any
mistake will be punished heavily.

39
At WP8 we spot the city of Tskhinvali. It is here that the Russians are entering
their equipment in Georgian territory. We therefore check the north of the city, and
the road running through it. We report every convoy we may spot. There's a chance that
the snowstorm slowed deployment, and a plug is formed. Then we spot the south of
the city, and elements about to be deployed in the plains.

This done, RTB following the flight plan, and staying very low. We will return
to FARP Dublin, except counter-order instructing us to go to the LZ in Gori.

Summary :

1) Take-off from Dublin.

2) WP-2 : Kristsnisi, 355 pour 6km.
3) WP-3 : Dzevera, 021 pour 4 km.
4) WP-4 : Shindisi, 037 pour 5 km.
5) Back to flight plan, very low.
6) WP-8 : North then South of Tskhinvali.
7) RTB Dublin.

Mission 12 : RTB.

Janvier 28th 2004

09 : 30

It's been three days, but we still can not believe. Bastards.

We can not avenge them. The negotiations were concluded, and hostilities ceased
completely. With Phoenix-2 we are charged to escort a Mi-24 of the UN, call-sign
Vodkov, which will go take a series of photos, with UN invistigators, of the demarcation
line cutting the plains of Gori in two. We will escort him during his flight over the line.
We'll join him back at Gori LZ. We take-off from Dublin

It will be important to stay on our side, at the South of the line, constantly,
otherwise the Russians might take it badly. And they already have taken us enough.

Normally Vodkov should make a tour more or less complete of the line. We
have the same flight plan. We will accompany him along. After that, he'll go to the north
side of the line, and will inspect the Russians deployments and Meatboy-1's wreck. We
do not follow him there of course.

Russians agreed to send us back the bodies.

41
The meeting point will be a road junction north of the village of Karaleti. As
soon as Hannibal gives us the order, we go to the village, and we cover Sluggy as he
lands at the appointment place to recover the bodies.

This being done, we escort him RTB international airport of Tbilisi.
