THEOLOGICAL REFLECTION ABOUT GIVING

In terms of giving what I learned about this and how will apply this in my life following what the Bible says
about it. Giving was defined in Webster as providing love or other emotional support; caring. I was amazed
how Webster defined giving, formerly I always think money in terms of giving but this word is far from that
definition it has deeper interpretation. Giving is love and care. This definition doesn’t contradict what the bible
is saying about giving.

Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who
refresh others will themselves be refreshed. –Proverbs 11:24-25

Whoever refreshes others will themselves be refreshed. This verse strikes a lot because I knew that whoever
sows sparingly will reap sparingly. Learning how to give generously to others without expecting return. Give
freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. When I give I should do this without hesitation
and do it freely, I should love, support and care freely.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:7

While writing this I was reminded with one scenario wherein me, mia and ate Dina was walking we met an old
lady seating at the bench at first I was really hesitant to talk to her but I have a strong conviction to Pray for her
and give something to her. As I talk to her I was listening to her story and she said that she don’t have home
anymore because her family expelled her. It was easy to judge her for the reasons why she was expelled but the
small voice inside me lead me to pray for her and ask her to accept Jesus aside from praying for her and giving
a little help in my little ways. While talking to her we heard some people who saw us saying “Drama” but
instead of entertaining those thoughts in my mind. I just felt the peace and being refreshed during that time. The
money that I gave is not big but the joy that I felt while doing that is really undeniable.

True giving comes from the heart. Without any hesitation and full of Joy for God loves a cheerful giver.

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t
have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! -Malachi 3:10

The principle of giving started from the real condition of our heart. How we release our tithes for the Lord says
I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to
take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Be Faithful to God because He never stop to be Faithful.
