Topic: DRUG ADDICTION AWARENESS

Does anyone you know use illicit substances? In that case, kindly urge them
to cease while it is still possible. Drugs are chemicals and substances that alter
the physical and psychological makeup of a person. Depressants, stimulants,
and hallucinogens are the three types of drugs that fall into this classification;
they are all beneficial for medical purposes but not for recreational use. Illegal
drugs include marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, and far too many others to
name; however, one thing is for certain: they can all ruin one's life. A person may
use that deadly substance for dumb reasons like to fit in, to escape or relax, to
relieve boredom, to seem older than they are, to rebel against authority, or to
have fun. Some people may be experiencing physical or mental exhaustion and
believed consuming that chemical would solve their issues, but over time, it only
makes their problems worse and makes their life more unpleasant. Since drugs
have touched my entire life, I have become increasingly curious about drugs and
how they affect people's lives. Before, it once destroyed my family.
Illegal narcotics devastated my life when I was a young child. To avoid
alarming you, let me clarify that it wasn't me that used drugs, but rather someone
who holds a very special place in my heart, someone I look up to and who I
genuinely love. He was my life, and without him, I could not survive. My first
heartbreak and betrayal both came from him. In brief, he used drugs, misused
them, became addicted to them, lost his ability to behave appropriately, was
detected, and spent years in prison. He claimed that he utilized medications to
relieve the stress that came with his business. He claimed that doing so made
him forget his troubles, but whatever it was, the fleeting bliss he sought to
achieve wrecked our family and my life. If I am to tell this story to my five year old
self, I just knew she wouldn’t believe me.
There are still a lot of people who do not understand how using illegal
substances can result in serious issues and social problems. The National
Capital Region's (NCR) regional police office recorded the vast majority of the
41.5 thousand reported incidences of illegal drug use in the Philippines in 2021.
Drugs can make you criminals. In addition to breaking the Republic Act No. 9165,
which Establishes the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and repeals
Act No. 6425, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1972, drugs may also
impact your capacity to commit crimes. You obliterate not only your life but the
lives of people around you as well. To everyone who is present and has heard
my voice, I urge you to spread awareness and to use your voice to encourage
others to say "NO TO DRUGS." Your body, mental health, social life, house,
relationships, family, and the way you perceive reality and the pleasures of life
can all be destroyed by drugs. There are various approaches to avoid being
hooked to drugs, and it all begins with a simple NO. By refusing, you are
essentially saving your life and the lives of others.
