5 (History of Philippine Money)

In History of Philippine Money, I’ve learned to this topic that we are rich during
this time before we colonized with the Hispanic Era, and the Philippine Money
currency circulate with gold with the other commodities, and the adaptation as
well of the Peso during this era. And my reflection during Spanish period is that
during this time it has a big impact to all of the Filipinos, and we used their most
beautiful coins in so many years before we finally freed to their hands and have
our own currency, and the coins have also a paper coins but we Filipinos didn’t
have much time to used our own currency because with the surrender of General
Aguinaldo to the Americans, the currencies were withdrawn from circulation and
declared illegal currency. Because Americans want the Filipinos to use their own
currency than Filipinos have, With the coming of the Americans 1898, modern
banking, currency, and credit systems were instituted making the Philippines one
of the most prosperous countries in East Asia. But before we used our current
money, the Filipinos used first the “Mickey Mouse” money of Japan, and that is
the last currency that we used before we use our own currency that
establishment of the Central Bank of the Philippines in 1949, but before that we
used new BSP currency of paper bills and coins, we have the series of currency
such as. English series, Filipino Series, Ang bagong Lipunan series, Flora and Fauna
series, Improved Flora and Fauna series, and New Design Series. That is what I’ve
learned about the history of Philippine money.
