The Mona Lisa Created by Leonardo Da Vinci, it was created during 1503 and acquired by King of

Francis I of France and has been on display since 1797 at the louvre in Paris but now it is owned by the
French government. The painting is so valuable that it has been stolen 4 times over the years that it has
existed. Leonardo Da Vinci used Oil paint to paint the Mona Lisa. The painting was commissioned by a
rich Italian named Francesco del Giocondo who wanted to place a portrait of the wife of Francesco
named Lisa in their new home. But the portrait was never sent to Francesco as Leonardo brought it with
him when he went to work Francis I. the painting has no eyebrows because it has eroded to the point
where it is not even visible. On 30 December 1956 a young Bolivian man named Ugo Ungaza Villegas
threw a rock at the painting resulting in the loss of a speck of pigment near the left elbow which was
painted over. It has the color brown for the hair and for some of the clothing. Light brown for the sleeve
and a bit of yellowish-white for the skin.
