Keyboard – Keycap dropped off - Wording
 According to the ASUS R&D design, the gap in between the keycap and the top case is about 0.5 mm
(see illustration below). Most objects having thickness over 1mm would not easily slip into the gaps.
Objects such as papers, apparel or cleaning cloths having loose thread may have a chance to slip into and
caught in the gaps.
 The keycap and the support frame have tensile strengths which may withstand up to a maximum of 350gf
on the corners and the side edges. Under normal circumstances, the keycap would not fall off on its own.
It would require external forces to pull the keycap away from the support frame, which would be
considered as CID.
 350gf is equivalent to the weights of two Apple iPhone 12 smartphones.
[Scenario 1] Clean the keyboard with a cleaning cloth having loose threads, which may get caught underneath
the keycap and pull the keycap off while wiping the keyboard.
[Scenario 2] Sleeves with loose threads, which could be caught underneath the keycap and pull the keycap off
while in movement.
[Scenario 3] pry the keycaps with finger nails or sharp objects and cause the keycap to fall off.
[Cautions] 1. Avoid wiping the keyboard with objects that has loose threads; 2. avoid prying the keycap with
sharp object; 3. Avoid moving any items on the keyboards.

17. Rusted (Oxidation)
Rusted refers to the oxidation (as shown in Pic-1) of the reaction between metal (such as iron,
copper...) and oxygen and water molecules in the air, and then generates “iron oxide, copper oxide,
and the general so-called rust is that it changes the original type and texture of the material, such as
rust of iron, patina (Pic-2), ...etc.
Because many parts inside a laptop are made of metal, such as circuit boards & LCD, etc.. If the
metal parts are permeated by water or other liquids, the parts will be prone to have oxidation
phenomenon (commonly called “Rust”). When the inside of a laptop is exposed by water, the metal
parts inside the laptop will be easily caused oxidation/rusting/patina (Pic-3).
Therefore, users are advised to avoid using the laptop in high-humidity environment, such as
bathroom, swimming pool or beach if the laptop is not with well water-proof protection.
Note: Except the liquid permeating, the metal oxidation takes time to produce an effect. Therefore, please
explaining with the user that please pay attention to the time factor.
