Rising cost of living in the Philippines

Like many countries around the world, the Philippines is facing skyrocketing Inflation.
Services and non-food items such as electricity, water, food & beverage, and transport services
are the top sources of Inflation. They are making it too hard for the citizens to adjust, especially
the marginalized sectors of the country, with the non-stop fuel hike, soaring prices of foods and
beverages, especially the shortage of onions, cost of rent, groceries, transportation fees, and
other services. To combat this situation, the new administration must increase domestic output,
which is currently constrained by several factors, including a need for more infrastructure
connecting farmers and markets, improving the quality of public spending, and protecting the
poor and vulnerable. Subsidies are only expensive Band-Aids that the nation can ill afford; they
do not solve the Philippines' persistent food insecurity problems.
