1.) Why did you choose nursing as your future profession?+

2.) What kind of nurse would you like to be? What qualities do you have that can help you become
that kind of nurse?

Reflection Response:

1.) I chose nursing as my future profession because I have always been passionate about helping
others and being a shoulder to lean on. Growing up I always helped my grandpa with his insulin
shots and also helped my cousins out with watching their kids when they needed help. Majority
of my extended family members were all born premature, so I got a lot of experience in the
hospitals and monitoring them when needed. It truly built my heart to love nursing and treat it
not as a job, but as a passion I want to grow into.
2.) I would love to be a neonatal nurse and work in the NICU. I have had a lot of experience growing
up with premature babies in my family and have seen them try to grow with being stuck in the
hospital. I would like to say I’m good in those type of situations by nurturing the babies and
making their parents believe their child is truly in a safe place. I’m great at multi-tasking and a
huge part of the NICU is being able to take care of, protect, and heal each child you are given.
Critical thinking always seems important with this type of job, and I have always been someone
who is able to problem solve on the spot.
