Thinking about the word "manager," we frequently picture a key employee who serves as
the leader of the management team. Managers are one of the reasons for good management.
They play a crucial role in a company because they inspire their teams to collaborate and go in
the same direction in order to achieve organizational objectives. The group interviews five
managers in different fields to learn about their experiences.

Emil Ian Magbag was the first interviewee, who was interviewed by Patricia Camille C.
Magbag. Patricia’s uncle, Emil Ian, is currently working at Stotsenberg Hotel and Casino in
Clark as manager. He experienced hardships before getting that manager title. He worked for 21
years in the food and beverage industry for different companies. He was promoted in May 2022
after working for the company for three years. Emil Ian shared that the challenge of being a
manager is leading a team. He has to be inspirational to others to motivate his team members.
Being a manager for him means mentoring and coaching his team effectively. The specific
challenges he mentioned were developing relevant skills such as decision-making, strategic
thinking, and time management. Working as a manager is not just full of challenges; they also
consider personal growth and development, higher pay, more influence in the company's future,
and the opportunity to make personal decisions through work experience as rewards he has
gained. Patricia thinks that her interviewee has shared enough for her to understand and confirm
that, in the real world, being a manager is really all about handling a team successfully. You
can’t just think about yourself, you have to think about others’ sake too. It is safe to say that in
the work industry, the team defines the manager.
