3.1 PANEL MOUNTING – XLS CABINETS.

OVERVIEW : CAB
∂ The Model CAB1/ CAB2 / CAB3 are used to house system
modules like Powersupply, loop cards and battery.

∂ The CAB1/CAB2 /CAB3 consists of an outer door, an inner

door.

∂ It has three stages.

∂ Fixing of Backbox, Inner door and outer door.

∂ Fixing of CC5.

∂ Cabling and Termination.

∂ Card Guide fixing and Cards insertion.

WHERE TO FIX:
∂ Cab1- Back Box:

∂ Prior to installation consider the following:

∂ Mounting height for visual and manual access to the Per-

son MachineInterface (PMI) display. We can fix CAB1 at an
height of 1.9M from floor. Fig 1 & 2

∂ Consider the weight and size of the enclosure.

∂ Size: We can come to know area of wall required to fix the

panel.

∂ Weight: Helps to decide whether the strength of wall will

be sufficient to hold the panel.

 Prior to installation consider the following..

∂ Do not locate the panel where it is exposed to high levels

of moisture.

∂ Do not locate the panel where there are high levels of vi-
bration or shock. Fig1.

∂ Position the backbox clear of obstructions so that the
front door opens freely and the controls and indicators
are easily accessible. –Fig2

 HOW TO FIX BACK BOX:
Product Inspection

∂ Check material for any damage before attempting to fix

on the wall.

∂ Note: In the unlikely event that the panel has been dam-
aged in transit, you MUST NOT install it but contact
supplier factory for their returns procedure.

REQUIRED ACCESSORIES

for back box fixing

∂ Anchor fastners with washers and bolt.

REQUIRED TOOLS:
∂ Spanners and box spanners.

∂ Drilling machine and drill bit

∂ Hammer

∂ Heavy screw driver to remove the cable knockout

FIXING OF BACK BOX:

∂ Mark the locations of the two upper mounting bolts of
the backbox on the wall.

∂ Drill the two holes located in the previous step and screw

 in the top bolts, leaving a small gap between the wall
and each top bolt.

∂ Remove the cable knockouts in the backbox for the entry

of field wiring. (Refer to location of knockouts.).

∂ Place the backbox over the two top bolts and allow it to
slide down over the bolts.

∂ Mark, drill, and install the two bottom bolts in the

backbox.

∂ Tighten all four bolts securely against the back wall of

the backbox.

HOW TO FIX INNER DOOR AND OUTER DOOR .

∂ Insert the inner door by placing it on hinges.

∂ Insert blank plates, as needed, in unused spaces on door

and secure with 10-32 nuts.

 ∂ Install the outer door by placing it on its hinges.

∂ Install the ground straps on both the inner and outer

doors

∂ Close the inner door and secure with the ¼ turn fastener.

∂ Close the outer door and secure with the key latch.
