the appliance. Therefore, install the appliance in a well-ventilated, dry room should. Its
ambient temperature should correspond with the climate class, for which the device is
designed for.
Do not install the appliance outdoors (e.g. balcony, terrace, garden house, etc.).

Clean appliance prior to initial operation
The appliance and the parts of the interior have to be cleaned thoroughly before first
use. See also chapter ‚Cleaning and care‘.
Electrical connection
The socket must be near the appliance and also freely accessible following installation
of the appliance.
The appliance complies with the protection class I. Connect the appliance to 220–240
V/50 Hz alternating current via a correctly installed socket with protective conductor.
The socket must be fused with a 10 to 16 A fuse.
For appliances operated in non-European countries, check whether the stated voltage
and current type match the values of your mains supply. This information can be found
on the rating plate.
WARNING
Never connect the appliance to electronic energy saver plugs.
The refrigerator shall stay for half an hour before connecting 220-240 /50Hz power
when it is firstly started.
The refrigerator shall run 2 to 3 hours before loading fresh or frozen foods; the
refrigerator shall run for more than 4 hours in summer in advance considering that the
ambient temperature is high.
Set temperature control to setting 3. This setting is best for an ambient temperature
range from +20 °C to +25 °C for private and office use.
Depending on ambient temperature, location of appliance or frequently opened door,
you may adjust setting of temperature control.
If there is no fresh food, run appliance in storage mode.
6 hours before freezing fresh food (max. 20 kg) set appliance to freezing mode. After
24 hours press push-button switch again to reset to storage mode.
Note
Appliance set in freezing mode has a higher energy consumption. Therefore, change
setting to storage mode (by pressing push-button switch) as soon as required
temperature has been reached. 48 hours after setting to freezing mode it will be reset
to storage mode automatically.
7 Storing of food
Do only open the appliance when necessary and only as short as possible.
The freezer is suitable for storage of deep-frozen foods and freezing of fresh,
impeccable food.
Therefore, please consider scheduling 2-3 hours’ time in advance, before you
freeze fresh food. Turn the temperature control to highest setting according to model.
Allow warm dishes to cool down first, before placing them in the freezer.
Already cooled down dishes increase energy efficiency.
Put fresh food to be frozen in top freezing drawer/compartment. This means you may
rearrange distribution of deep frozen food occasionally.
Already deep-frozen goods should be stored in one of the lower drawer, so that top
drawer is available for freezing fresh food.
Wherever applicable, frozen goods should be stored in direct contact with the bottom
of the drawer. Leave some space between frozen products for circulation of cold air.
Do not freeze again already thawed foods. Do not withdraw deep-frozen goods with
moist or wet hands: hands could freeze to it. For security reason, freezing
compartments are secured with a stop mechanism. However they can be withdrawn
completely being pulled up and taken out. To re-insert proceed in reverse order.
For storage of deep-frozen goods, take attention that it was stored correctly before and
cold chain was not interrupted.
If power fails, please leave the door closed. Deep-frozen goods stay cold during
several hours.
CAUTION
Do not store any sparkling beverages in freezing compartment, especially
mineral water, beer, sparkling wine, cola, etc.
RISK of EXPLOSION!
Do not store any plastic bottles in freezing compartment.
Do not eat any food that is still frozen. Do not give any ice cream to
children directly out of freezing compartment. Burn/frostbite in mouth can
occur due to chilling cold.
Contact with frozen foods, ice, ice cream and metallic parts inside the
appliance may cause burn with very sensitive skin.
RISK of BURN/FROSTBITE!
WARNING
Do not store any explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a
flammable propellant, e.g. Butane, Propane etc. in this appliance.
Such aerosol cans are distinguishable by the flame symbol.
Possibly escaping gases may ignite by electrical construction units. FIRE
RISK!
Store high proof alcoholic beverages only tightly closed and standing. Please,
consider the indications of the beverage manufacturer
Do not freeze too large amounts of food at once. Quality of food is preserved best
if frozen quickly through up to the core. The temperature during the freezing
process has to be regulated by temperature control in the appliance (only
refrigerator with freezer compartment and refrigerator/freezer).
Do not freeze food that has already been thawed once.
Fill in the ice tray to the level of three quarters with potable water and put it on the
shelf in the upper section of the freezer. Only free frozen ice tray by a stump utensil
(spoon handle). Ice cubes are taken out easier, if the tray is kept under running water
for a short time.
8 Defrosting
Manually
After using your appliance for a certain period of time, building of a layer of ice can
occur. If this layer of ice reaches a thickness of 6 – 8 mm, your appliance must be
defrosted and cleaned. Layers of ice increase energy consumption.
Before defrosting regulate temperature on maximum. Stored goods keep cold for a
certain time.
IMPORTANT
Avoid injury and damage by transporting the appliance upright and packed only.
WARNING
During cleaning operating this appliance may not be connected to the
mains. RISK of ELECTROCUTION! Switch the appliance off and
disconnect the plug from the mains or switch off / turn out the circuit breaker
or fuse before any cleaning or maintenance operation.
WARNING
Never clean appliance with a steam cleaner. Humidity could enter into
electrical parts. RISK of ELECTROCUTION!
Hot damp can damage plastic parts.
The appliance must be totally dry, before switching on.
Do not use any abrasive cleaner.
After cleaning connect the appliance again to the mains.
IMPORTANT
Essential oils and organic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. lemon juice or the
juice from orange peel, butyric acid, cleanser that contain acetic acid.
Do not allow such substances to come into contact with parts of the appliance.
Remove all food and store the goods wrapped in a cool room.
Clean appliance including accessories with a cloth and hot water. You may add
some dish detergent. Afterwards wipe with clear water and dry appliance with a dry
soft cloth.
Reconnect your dry appliance.
Please care for sufficient ventilation on the bottom, side and rear of the appliance.
Never cover ventilation openings.
The drawing shows the right combination of the drawers, crisper and shelves which
can lead to the more energy efficiency. Adjusting combination may result in consuming
more energy. Therefore best is to keep this combination.
All drawers and shelves shall be left in the appliance to keep stable temperature and
save energy.
For having more storage space (e.g. for important goods) you can remove
drawers in the middle. If required, remove upper and lower drawers in last place.
A compartment filled evenly contributes for an optimal use of energy. Avoid empty or
half-empty compartments.
Do not place warm foods into the appliance. Allow warm foods to cool first, before
placing them into the appliance. Already cooled foods increase energy efficiency.
Open the door as short as possible for minimizing lost of coldness inside the
appliance. Doors opened only for a short time and closed correctly decrease energy
required.
Do not set temperature any colder than necessary. This contributes for an optimal use
of energy.
Door seal of the appliance have to be in order, for correct closing of the doors and for
not increasing energy consumption unnecessary.
