Minimalist lifestyle and shopping
Nowadays more and more people want to live a sustainable lifestyle of self-awareness and
minimalism as opposed to consumerism and compulsive shopping tendencies. Working in
groups, do some research on:
− how to adopt a minimal lifestyle, its benefits and drawbacks;
− how to become a minimalist shopper.
Here are a few minimalist living and shopping tips which might help you:
− impose a shopping ban on yourself for two months (don’t buy anything other than the
essentials: food, toiletries, etc.);
− DIY and reuse things;
− develop the taste for vintage products;
− go to secondhand markets;
− make a shopping list and stick to it;
− ...
Oral presentations
The following Japanese inventions are apparently very useful but a bit too absurd to actually be
produced.
Choose one of the products and prepare an advertising campaign. Here are some tips:
− decide if your product is going to be advertised in a magazine, on a billboard, on the radio or
on TV;
− invent a catchy brand name for it;
− include a memorable slogan;
− persuade the consumer to buy the product by describing it briefly and explaining what makes
it unique.
