10 Tips of Copywriting

1. Know your audience – define your target audience before you get
started on the article. Know your target audience and talk only to them
(be specific). Do not write a general article trying to address all the
segments – It would only confuse the audience.
2. Determine your value proposition – Ex. How to use the product for their
own advantage? why is your brand amazing? Why is your product great?
3. Your USP (Unique selling proposition) – More in comparison to the
competitors – why should I buy your product? How unique and different
is your product? Why does your product standout? What are the key
differentiators of your product compared to someone else’s product?
4. Establish your objective – Is it to make a sale? Is it just an informative
article? Is it about your new product launch? Is it just about the features
and benefits of the product? – People’s attention is very short – So make
sure your copy is to the point and short
5. Use a compelling subject line
6. Avoid these words – May, Maybe, Hope, Wish, Probably, Try, But,
Perhaps, However – it makes you sound as you’re not sure what your
brand stands for.
7. Use the present tense – Future tense also works sometimes
8. Include customer testimonials – Because the whole world is looking for
reviews before they buy the product.
9. Keep it clean and concise – Use headings, Italics and Bold to emphasize
certain words. Avoid big paragraphs.
10.Keep it pretty – use images, videos (visuals) that match your
article/product/brand.
