Work immersion has become over the years one of the course
requirements for graduation. In order to be exposed to and familiarized
with a work-related environment connected to their field of specialization,
senior high school students are required to complete a work immersion
program in a business organization or establishment whose work needs
are related to the specialty. Students will participate in a practical
experience or work simulation as part of their senior high school
curriculum, allowing them to put their skills and knowledge from their
course of study to use.
Diosdado San Antonio, the undersecretary for curriculum and
instruction, emphasized during the regional EduAksyon Press Conference
organized by DepEd MIMAROPA that the Department had already
developed work immersion guidelines before the COVID-19 pandemic and
that it should be implemented for students in senior high school since they
are the closest to realizing their postsecondary goals and dreams.
Meanwhile, DepEd mandates schools fully comply with the School Safety
Assessment Tool (SSAT), which has been revised to allow more schools to
eventually reopen, in the recently approved Revised Operational
Guidelines on the Progressive Expansion of Face-to-Face Learning
Modality (DepEd-DOH Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2022).
Work immersion prepares students to decide whether to pursue
postsecondary education or work by fostering in their life and professional
skills. Through the development of partnerships, the department hopes
that participating institutions will offer students opportunities for work
immersion, real-world experience, and additional learning resources.
Partnering with reputable institutions or organizations may result in
agreements for student work immersion. Work immersion requires
parental approval, according to DepEd, as some of the students are still
minors.
Since the government's actual education spending in recent decades
has never exceeded 4% of GDP, compared to a global average of 6% of
GDP, K–12 programs will be underfunded, with predictable negative results.
Due to the government's low resources and staff being overworked, the
primary gap in the educational system has been vulnerable to
implementation that is both ineffective and inefficient.
The overall quality of education in the Philippines is poor, stagnant,
or even declining, as evidenced by the recent National Achievement Test
(NAT) results that were below par. As a result, the government must give
priority to improving facilities and teacher preparation in order to raise
educational standards. In addition, the Philippines' persistent young
unemployment problem continues to obstruct real economic progress
with an expected number of unemployed Filipinos aged 15 to 24 in July
2020 that was 4.6 million and 2.1 million more than in July 2019, mostly as a
result of the COVID-19 pandemic's negative effects on the job and
education sectors as well as the transfer of students into the workforce.
DepEd has made it a requirement for students to obtain hands-on
experience through work simulation of their chosen track as part of the
program in order to give them greater opportunities to apply their
knowledge and capabilities; this is due to the lack of knowledge, skills, and
work experience that puts students at a disadvantage. During their two
years of study, participating students receive instruction and close
supervision from industry supervisors while working in a real-world setting.
Over 390,000 senior high school students have participated in the Work
Immersion Program since it began in the academic year 2017–2018, with
60% of them going on to find employment as a result.
In the future, Work Immersion will assist DepEd's Bureau of Curriculum
Development in recognizing the demand for curricula in more educational
institutions that reflect local government and business interests. DepEd is
attempting to develop connections with industry partners for more help in
upgrading skills and training, as well as discover more businesses willing to
offer immersion opportunities and venues for student learning at the local
level. The Work Immersion initiative shows how local, state, and federal
governments and businesses may work closely together to develop
curricula and learning resources that will enable seniors in high school
compete in high-growth, high-value, and high-employment sectors. It is
critical to respond to industry expectations and better prepare young
people for the workforce, as evidenced by DepEd's intention to pay close
attention to changing labor markets and offer pertinent training and work
experience programs. By boosting the number of young people with
higher levels of ability who enter the workforce and fostering growth within
and outside of the economic sector, the Program thus offers helpful
lessons on how to contribute to reducing youth unemployment.

One page long and attached to your job application is a cover letter
(alongside your CV or Resume). Its goal is to give you a concise introduction and
rundown of your professional history. It promotes your application and serves as
a personal introduction. You must include a cover letter because it allows you to
convince the company why you are the ideal candidate for the position. By
emphasizing relevant experience and talents, you can do this; as a result, you
should always write your cover letter with the position you're applying for in mind.
A resume is a brief written summary of a job applicant’s past employment history,
education, and other pertinent information. A strong resume has the ability to get you
interviews. This outlines your experience and what makes you special. You need a
resume that showcases your strengths and fit for the position if you want to stand out
from the competition.
First impressions are crucial in the business world, and your office
attire is the first thing that new clients and business partners are exposed
to. If your clothes aren’t giving off the impression of success, your
performance in these areas could suffer. The way you dress also carries
subtle messages to those you interact with during your workday, and if
those messages carry negative connotations, you could be losing out on
important sales or promotions. If you want to maintain a professional
image, you need to ensure that your clothes are well maintained, fit
properly, and aren’t too flashy or worn.
This activity made me realize some things. Some companies prefer
to allow employees to dress freely or casually for comfort which tends to
work well in more creative work environments. However, other companies
will typically encourage and/or require a more defined and professional
dress code to maintain a professional image of themselves and the
business where employees routinely interact on a daily basis with
prospects, clients and business partners.
Every business professional should dress appropriately for the
workplace as it conveys professionalism to observers and gives off a good
first impression. You never know when you will need to meet with someone
from outside your organization, which is another reason why dressing
professionally is crucial in the business world. The impression of your firm
will be of how you seemed to this outsider. The difference between
securing a new agreement, contract, or sale and missing the chance to
close that business could, in part, be attributed to that image.
It is important that us as students become accustomed to this type
of clothing so that we can use it for our future activities. We should also be
aware that good dress requires fundamental manners. Proper attire plays
an important role in any workplace. If you are working in a school,
corporate or on your own, wearing proper attire is important. It needs to
be suitable for the workplace. Proper dress code makes an impression
that the person is presentable as well as professional. Combining
appropriate dress with fundamental business and professional decorum is
required. People's appearance influences both initial perceptions and
general assessments of them. Maintaining a level of dress that makes a
good impression is crucial since how someone wears impacts how clients
or business partners perceive a company.
A resignation letter informs your employer that you are quitting your position. It can
be delivered through email or as a printed letter and formally announces your
resignation from your current position. A formal letter of resignation informs an
employer that you are quitting your position. This comprises notice of your resignation,
the date your employment will stop, and your contact details.
The relevance of the mock interview stems from the fact that the more you
practice the many scenarios you might face in a job interview, the better
prepared you will be. Because you will be familiar with all the details, you will be
able to demonstrate your extensive research on the organization. You will be
prepared to respond if an odd job interview question arises because you heard
it during the practice interview. You will also have plenty of opportunity to
practice maintaining eye contact, exhibiting confident and enthusiastic body
language, and using positive facial expressions.
Job interviews are nerve-wracking and stress-inducing. However, this
activity, this gives me the opportunity to shake out those jitters during several
practice runs. When you practice the job interview with someone who has the
knowledge and experience with the position you want, and the industry you
hope to enter, you can receive helpful feedback about what you’re doing right
and wrong. We can take that feedback and hone your interview skills with
trained career specialists that can be particularly valuable because they can
give you tips on what hiring professionals in your field may be looking for, ways
you can prepare, how to handle your nerves, and best practices in following-up
after an interview.

CALAMBA DOCTORS' HOSPITAL

CALAMBA, LAGUNA
BRIEF HISTORY

The Advanced Medical Systems, Inc. (AMSI) was founded as a result of the
passionate desire of a group of doctors working in the then-municipality of
Calamba to build a cutting-edge medical facility that can respond to the rapidly
changing medical needs of its residents as well as the province of Laguna's
rapidly growing industrial sector. The 27 founding members and incorporators of
AMSI decided to build what is today known as the CALAMBA DOCTORS' HOSPITAL
after realizing that the town lacked modern hospitalization services and facilities
(CDH).
The operational expertise acquired while running the clinic helped AMSI
determine the needs and preferences of the locals in terms of medical and
hospitalization services. The corporation's founding members and incorporators
pursued their goal of establishing CDH as a result. To oversee the hospital's
Cardio-Pulmonary Services and provide cutting-edge medical diagnostic
services to its patients, AMSI-CDH founded a subsidiary company, CALAMBA
DIAGNOSTICS, INC. (CDI) in 1996. By the end of 1999, CDH was effectively providing
services for 2-D echocardiography, general ultrasonography, CT scanning, and
EEG, among others.
To form a Cardio-Pulmonary Department under CDH direction, the AMSI
Board of Directors decided it was wise to integrate CDI with AMSI. As a result, on
August 29, 2002, the SEC received a registration for a plan of merger between the
two firms. Similarly, in 2002, the establishment of the LAGUNA MRI CENTER, INC.
(LMCI), a sister company of AMSI, led by a group of hospital owners with a majority
investment from AMSI, offered CDH a competitive advantage over other hospitals
in terms of more sophisticated diagnostic imaging capabilities.
From that point forward, long-term plans, such as the lateral and vertical
development of the physical plant, the purchase of cutting-edge diagnostic tools,
and the creation of a team of highly skilled medical personnel, were gradually but
steadily achieved. Additionally, the institution has been chosen as the base
hospital for the Calamba Doctors' College, which is partially owned by AMSI,
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) students. In fact, not only in the province of
Laguna but also in Batangas and Cavite, the Calamba Doctors' Hospital is one of
the most favored medical facilities.

Interviewing these specialists or someone with expertise and
experience in the field is comparable to a data collection technique with
the main goal of learning more about a certain problem or area of
application. This gives students more information about expert interviews
and all they need to know about the workplace in the real world. By
conducting these kinds of interviews, instructors can give students
detailed information on a particular study subject, such as the work
immersion, activities or accomplishments during the course of the job,
anticipated challenges, and necessary solutions to address those
problems.
As a student who also experienced workloads during the work
immersion, this kind of interview helps us to identify who is an expert in
the area of study by looking out for their credibility and credentials. Since
they are somewhat experts who have vast knowledge, ability, and
experience in their area of study, their insights will immensely help us
cope up with the real-life workplace. You might think that you know what
you need, but it's often better to ask the right people for their advice.
Additionally, the interviews will not only help you develop your own
expertise but will also allow you to observe how other professionals carry
out their duties. This will allow you to determine which techniques are
most effective for you and will also give you the chance to pick up tips
from people who have accomplished similar tasks. These are all factors
that make interviewing someone who has recently started a job
advantageous for you because you will have the chance to find out
about their skills and limitations as well as their passion for working for
your business.
Most importantly, when interviewing someone, whether they're new
or not, it's important to ask questions that relate to the job you're looking
for. You want to get a sense of their thought process and see how they
react to pressure or stress. You also want to make sure that they are
comfortable with your company and its culture—you don't want them to
feel like they're going into an unsafe environment. You can also ask about
their experience in the field and what skills they bring to the table. This will
help you understand what kind of role you need to fill and whether or not
this person fits into your team.
A key to being a good employee is to be able to
adjust your mindset when needed. Sometimes, you’ll have
to do things that aren’t exactly what you signed up for—but
it’s how you deal with those situations that will determine
whether you can thrive in your position as an employee. For
example, let’s say you need to work on a project that
requires some new skills or knowledge, but there isn’t time
for training or education before the project begins. In this
situation, it would be helpful if you had had some
experience working on similar projects before. You could
use this experience as an opportunity to learn something
new and help out on the project by demonstrating your
own skillset or even get feedback from coworkers about
how well you did at learning something new during those
previous projects. This is just one example of how having
some work experience outside of school can be beneficial
for students who want to work in the future.
It's important to have an
experience in work immersion,
because it can help you learn more
about yourself and the world
around you. You may learn things
about yourself that you didn't know
before. For example, in my
experience in work immersion, I
learned that I can manage my time
well in terms of workloads like
sorting and organizing files in a
short amount of time.
Moreover, it would be helpful if
you had had some experience
working on similar projects before.
You could use this experience as an
opportunity to learn something new
and help out on the project by demonstrating your own skillset or even get
feedback from coworkers about how well you did. Work immersion is not just a
way to help you get into an industry, but also a way to get you ready for the job.
These are designed to give students, specially those graduating ones, a real-
world experience in their chosen field, and this means they will need more than
just theoretical knowledge of what they're learning. They'll need to know how to
think like their future colleagues, how to communicate effectively with them,
and how best to approach their job responsibilities and there's no better way to
do that than by working alongside them.
Work immersion or real-life work experiences is not that easy. However,
this is an important part of the learning process as students who are
immersed in their studies have a better chance of being successful as they
are able to apply what they've learned in the real world. Working alongside
your peers means you can have conversations about what you're learning in
class and who knows more about certain things than someone else. You can
learn from each other's experiences, too and when you share your own
experiences with people who are going through the same things at the same
time as you are, it makes them feel less alone.
Through work immersion, we learned new skills by doing them in the
actual field. In today's competitive working environment, it's important to
have the right skills and experience to provide us with real-world experience
in a variety of fields that are related. By immersing oneself in these
experiences, you will learn how they translate into your career path, which will
help your transition into the workplace more smoothly than if you were simply
reading about it online or watching YouTube videos.

One of the finest methods

to learn is to give yourself
enough time to fully immerse
yourself in a new setting. A
work immersion experience is
crucial because it teaches
you about both yourself and
the world around you. You get
to observe other people's
actions and responses to
various circumstances.
Additionally, this is as
applicable to the actual
world as feasible and has
become increasingly crucial
as we adjust to changes in
the workplace, whether those
changes are brought on by
the environment itself or the
management style of the organization. We will be able to adapt to new
circumstances more quickly and easily as a result of the experience.
