Unit 2

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

Your child is about to start Unit 2 of their English coursebook American Tiger 1.

In this unit your child will learn to identify the parts of the body and the five senses. They will also learn how
to read and write these words. They will listen to the unit story The Gingerbread Man and the cartoon story
with Ping and Pong. They will also sing and act out the songs I have a head and I listen with my ears, and say
Tiger’s word chant. In addition, your child will learn the traditional song Hokey pokey and read about traditional
games played by children in the US. Pronunciation practice of the sound ‘o’ will be provided
through fun activities and chants. Finally, the children will complete their American Tiger Progress Journal.
