1 MAPPING THE NAVBOX NETWORK DRIVE (FIRST TIME INSTALLATION)

1. From each ECDIS return to task menu by ending the operation:

a. Click on the [MENU] on the left toolbar.

b. Change over to the second page of the menu using the page switching button of the
menu.

c. Click on the [Code Input] button on the menu.

d. Enter 9999 and click on the [Enter] key.

2. From the Task Menu enter 9999 in the password field and press enter to start the Task
Manager.

3. In the Task Manager, select [File] - [New task]

4. Input "cmd" and click [OK] to open a command prompt window

5. Map the ENC share to a drive letter by running the following command:
NET USE X: \\172.16.60.242\ENC /PERSISTENT:YES

6. Restart ECDIS

7. Repeat the above on all systems that will load ENCs directly from NavBox

2 INSTALLING ENC CHART PERMITS (WEEKLY PROCEDURE)

On the NavBox you will find separate permit folders for each system you have ordered ENCs for.
These folders are named “ECDIS 1”, “ECDIS 2”, “UNIT 3”, “UNIT 4” and “UNIT 5”. (i.e. if you have two
ECDIS and one chart radar, you will find an “ECDIS 1”, “ECDIS 2” and “UNIT 3” folder on the NavBox).

1. From each ECDIS return to task menu by ending the operation:

a. Click on the [MENU] on the left toolbar.

b. Change over to the second page of the menu using the page switching button of the
menu.

c. Click on the [Code Input] button on the menu.

d. Enter 9999 and click on the [Enter] key.

2. From the [Task Menu] select [Chart Maintenance]

3. Click on [Import/Update License file]

4. Select [ENC]

5. Click [Manually]

6. Select the mapped network drive (X:) for the NavBox from the “Drive” drop-down menu (1),
browse to the appropriate folder on the NavBox (e.g. INFO\NAVTOR\PERMITS\ECDIS 1) for
the system you are installing to (2) and then click [OK] (3)

7. Click on the “Home” icon when the permit import has completed

3 INSTALL ENC CHARTS (WEEKLY PROCEDURE)

1. From each ECDIS return to task menu by ending the operation:

a. Click on the [MENU] on the left toolbar.

b. Change over to the second page of the menu using the page switching button of the
menu.

c. Click on the [Code Input] button on the menu.

d. Enter 9999 and click on the [Enter] key.

2. From the [Task Menu] select [Chart Maintenance]

3. Click on [Import/Update charts]

4. Select [ENC]

5. Click [Manually]

6. Select the mapped network drive (X:) for the NavBox from the “Drive” drop-down menu (1)
and then click [OK] (2)

7. After a while you will receive the below prompt. Click on [All]

8. During the import you can click on the [Log] button (1) for more details

9. When the update has completed, click on the “Home” icon (2) to finish.

4 INSTALL AIO (WEEKLY PROCEDURE)

1. From each ECDIS return to task menu by ending the operation:

a. Click on the [MENU] on the left toolbar.

b. Change over to the second page of the menu using the page switching button of the
menu.

c. Click on the [Code Input] button on the menu.

d. Enter 9999 and click on the [Enter] key.

2. From the [Task Menu] select [Chart Maintenance]

3. Click on [Import/Update charts]

4. Select [ENC]

5. Click [Manually]

6. Select the mapped network drive for the Navbox from the “Drive” drop-down menu (1),
browse to the AIO folder on the NavBox (INFO\AIO) (2) and then click [OK] (3)

7. After a while you will receive the below prompt. Click on [All]

8. When the update has completed, click on the “Home” icon to finish.
