1 Read the text and find the things in the picture.

rich man in Ancient Egypt. When

Papyrus is a plant that grows next to
rivers. Ancient Egyptians used papyrus

is made from a plant. He isn’t wearing shoes. Ancient Egyptians didn’t wear shoes very
often. Nebamun’s wife is standing near Nebamun. She is wearing beautiful clothes, and lot
of jewellery. Nebamun’s daughter is sitting on the ground. She is wearing jewellery too.
Nebamun is holding a special stick. He used this for hunting birds. There are lots of birds
and fish in the picture. Hunting and fishing were popular sports in Ancient Egypt. Ancient
Egyptians often took cats with them when they went hunting. There is a cat in the picture
too.
