According to government figures, up to
130 mothers die per every thousand births
in India. Many of these women can’t get to
hospital in time. In remote tribal areas of
the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh,
where development is still slow, women
suffer greatly due to lack of infrastructure
and healthcare facilities, especially
during pregnancy. However, the situation
is slowly changing.

case 1:

Narayanpur is a district in
Chhattisgarh, India.

Overview
• The geographic topography of Narayanpur
district is very problematic.
• There are mountains, forest, river and drains.
There is no connectivity
• The terrain is very difficult, so the normal
government services are not reachable to most
of the population that resides in the internal area.
IDEATION

Modify the four-stroke motorcycles.
A side carriage carries patients.

People oriented intervention
FEEDBACK
Feedback from drivers and people using it.
Lack of power.
Tends to turn left which was disturbing the
stability of it.

you add the third wheel , the center of

improving Maternal mortality rate and
infant mortality rate.
It helps pregnant women with their
delivery over health center. For the next
3 days, the women are kept here and
given fruits and nutritious food items.
This way, the risk of postpartum,
hemorrhage is lowered.
A simple innovation converting a
Motorcycle into an Ambulance
which has helped save more than
thousands of pregnant women in
the tribal district in India.
