Net Income: Total amount of revenue remaining after the deduction of


expenses from gross revenue during a defined accounting period.
2. Operating Expenses: Costs of operating a business, including salaries,
travel, rent, utilities, research, etc; and excluding financing costs and taxes

activities; what is left after the cost of goods sold and operating expenses are

4. Return on Investment (ROI): The measurement of how much revenue is
generated as it relates to the amount of money invested, calculated by the
return on an investment divided by the cost of the investment.
5. Revenue: Revenue is the income generated from sales associated with the
operation of an organization, prior to deducting cost or expenses.
