Isn't highschool enough? Who needs college anyway?

Working a back agonizing and very stressfull job,

working day to night yet when you receive your salary usually you will only have enough to sustain
yourself. It is conventional wisdom among filipino famillies that their children should get a college
degree or higher to land a good and stable job

No matter what school you graduated from, a college degree remains to be a primary preference for
most employers. According to a Philippine Institute for Development Studies survey, only a little over
20% of senior high school (SHS) graduates enter the workforce. The rest are pursuing a college
education because they lack the confidence to be work-ready. Moreover, companies are hesitant about
hiring SHS graduates for the same reason. This is reflected in the job openings posted on JobStreet,
where there are thousands more available posts for college graduates than SHS graduates. College is
expensive but there is lots and lots of ways to sustain your financial hardships if you really want to finish
college and you can also apply for a scholarship.

To sum this all up, college is a must if you want to have a high paying and stable job but im not saying
college is necessary for success, you can be successful either way college degree holder or not as long as
you work hard enough you can be succesful. Its just college might secure your way to success and a way
to a happy and wealthy life and with more and more careers requiring advanced education, a college
degree can be critical to your success in today's workforce. Research indicates that earning a degree can
have a significant and expansive impact on your life. It also has the potential to help you positively
impact your family and the world
