A mummy is a person or animal whose body

has been dried or otherwise preserved after death. And today I will talk about mummy,
it’s “How mummification works”.
There are 4 steps to make a mummy.
first. Dealing with internal organs.
second. Stuff the body with natron salt.
third. Massage it with oil mixture and wrap it in linen.
fourth.Place it in a coffin.
First, we need to eliminate every internal organ in the body such as lung, liver,
intestine... but the heart isn’t eliminated because the Egyptians believed that heart was
to be the seat of the soul, they treated it with salt called natron. Natron can kill
bacteria.
After dealing with the internal organs, the priest stuffed the body cavity with lots of
natron and washed it clean to disinfect the skin. Then, the corpse was set in a bed of
still more natron for about thirty-five days.
Then, priests poured tree resin over the body to seal it, massaged it with a waxy
mixture of oil and then wrapped it in linen.
Finally, they placed a mummy in a coffin or sometimes even a gold coffin.
So it usually took about thirty-five days for mummification.

The ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife was real, where the soul existed. In
that world, the body is still the "home" of the soul, if the body is destroyed, the soul
will be destroyed, too.
If you want to live again, you should pass through the underworld. This is a realm that
has a fire lake and magical gates which are guarded by a lot of scary monsters. You
have to pass the monsters and to reach the goddess of truth and justice. Finally, is the
weighing of the heart, if your heart is heavier than the feather weighed by
wrongdoings, you’ll cease to exist forever and if your heart is lighter than the feather,
you’ll alive again. That's what people think if we die and the underworld.
Why do they want to keep their soul?
They really want to keep their soul afterlife because they want to keep their soul to go
to another world. But some people want to keep their soul because they think when the
body is destroyed, the soul will be destroyed too.
Have you ever heard about uploading the human mind to computers? It’s a speculative
process of whole brain emulation in which a brain scan is used to completely emulate
the mental state of the individual in a digital computer.
From 2000 years ago until now, lots of things have changed, but people have not
changed their thinking about the soul, the mind of saving the soul hasn’t changed. This
spirit keeps being inherited by the next generation. I believe in the future; our dreams
will become true.
