1. What are Cloud Service Providers?

a. Cloud Service Providers make it easier than ever to run, store, access, and share
data by offering network resources over the Internet. Cloud Service Providers
offer this technology which grants its’ customers on-demand self-service, broad
network access, resource pooling, rapid elasticity, and measured service. There
are three common forms of cloud services which include Software as a Service
(SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Each
of these categories has a specific customer base targeting consumers, developers,
and network architects, respectively (Beskeen et al., 2019).
2. What is Platform as a Service (PaaS)?
a. PaaS allows its customers to run their own applications and services through third
party servers without having to purchase or maintain their own hardware. Using a
Cloud Service Provider makes network configuration easier by allowing its
customers to instantly add or remove cloud resources as needed based on the
traffic being received (Beskeen et al., 2019).
3. What are two (2) benefits of cloud computing?
a. Cloud computing allows for quick and easy storage of data that can be accessed
anywhere at any time if there is an internet connection. Files that are stored can
also be shared with others allowing multiple people to access and edit the files
simultaneously (Beskeen et al., 2019).
4. What is one (1) disadvantage of using cloud computing?
a. Using cloud computing for data storage can be a risk. It is not possible to know
where the data that you are storing is located, who can access it, or what happens
if something goes wrong. There are certain laws and regulations that must be
followed regarding the location of storage for sensitive information; in these
instances, cloud storage might not be possible (Beskeen et al., 2019).
