• Ask the pupils to imagine a town and to map some of the places and services in the town on the grid.
• Organise the pupils into pairs and ensure that they don’t show their partner their worksheet.
• Ask the pupils to describe their town to their partner using the grid references. Their partner draws
their partner’s town on their second grid.
• When both pupils have had a turn describing, ask them to compare their maps.
