1. The new deal involved numerous programs spanning many areas such as
Economic Stimulus & Stabilization, Bank Stabilization & Financial Reform, and
Relief & Welfare. With Economic stimulus & Stabilization, there were programs
like the federal credit unions that offered cooperative savings and loan
opportunities, the U.S Travel Bureau that helped increase tourism and leisure
travel, and the Electric Home and Farm Authority that helped Americans
purchase electrical appliances. For relief & Welfare, the social security act was
mothers with children, and the emergency relief appropriation act that provided
new deal work agencies with funding. The new deal had a significant impact on
Americans as they had just gone through the great depression, it helped improve
the lives of many American citizens while also setting a precedent for the federal
government to have a significant role in the nation's economic and social affairs.
Although the new deal wasn’t perfect, it helped the economy immensely by
putting new capital into ailing banks and reorganizing and closing banks that
were insolvent through the emergency banking act. The new deal also saved
farmers and homeowners from foreclosure letting people keep their properties
and homes, which in turn helped farmers and industries alike a reason to get
people back to work. This would result in the ‘’number of Americans working
going from 24 to 27 million between 1933 and 1935’’ 1. It also ended prohibition
which was still a very big issue at the time. Overall the new deal is seen as a
general. Many of the programs established by the new deal are also still in effect
today.
cooperation to achieve equal rights for all oppressed African Americans and
other minorities. King’s method argued that the end of the segregation of races
could be achieved through the use of peaceful protest and demonstration. Martin
Luther King’s philosophy was heavily influenced by the life and story of Mahatma
Gandhi who adamantly opposed the use of violence instead relying on love and
reason. Malcolm X on the other hand championed the need for immediate
meaningful change through any means necessary. His early speeches and works
argued for a complete separation of African American and white societies, these

leader of the Nation of Islam. Their beliefs were a dangerous distortion of the
teaching of Islam pushing African American superiority and racism toward other

3. The US got involved in the Gulf war Due to Iraq invading Kuwait in 1990. The
invasion was a result of other Arab states increasing their oil production resulting
in oil prices dropping which greatly hurt Iraq's economy. The US’s involvement
was also due to their relationship with Iraq deteriorating as Iraq blamed them as
well as Isreal for purposely weakening them by encouraging Kuwait to reduce oil
prices. They also wanted to establish a new order in which nations of the world
would work together to deter belligerence. When a country goes to war they have
to consider a lot of factors such as how many people will be deployed, if not
enough they must consider enlisting more soldiers. Other factors are resources
in general, weapons such as guns, bombs, ships, and planes, food, and how to
significantly stronger is not a good idea, allies of both sides should also be
considered as it can greatly affect a war. The reasoning behind a war is also very
important as people will not enlist in a war that they do not believe in.
