UKRAINE,PAVLOV’S HOUSE - MORNING

CHARACTERS:
PAVLOV
IGOR
OLEG

Pavlov and his two other roomates live in Dnipro. Since

nuclear war seemed evermore likely, they have stocked up on PPE
and food. Pavlov sits on the couch with his roomates. He reaches
for the remote and tunes into the local news station, tensions
have been high between the U.S and the Soviet Union. The look at
the TV with anticipation

“This is not a drill, nuclear war is imminent. Seek your local

fallout shelter. If one is not available nearby, shut the
windows, close the blinds, and seek the lowest part of your
building” - A man speaks from the TV with eerie calmness.

THE AIR RAID SIRENS SOUND NEARBY

“Hey, close the windows-do everything the TV said and get to the
basement!” - Igor says in a firm voice with hints of fear.

EVERYONE JUMPS UP AND PREPARES FOR THE STRIKE WITH VISIBLE PANIC
BUT STILL STAYING RELATIVELY CALM.

“Everyone, lets go” - Pavlov says in a panicked voice

PAVLOV AND HIS ROOMATES RUSH TO THE BASEMENT ONLY TO SEE A SMALL
LIGHT IN THE DISTANCE FOLLOWED BY AN EARTH SHATTERING BANG.

THEY CLOSE THE BASEMENT DOOR BEHIND THEM.

OLEG TRIES TO TURN ON THE LIGHTS BUT FINDS OUT THAT THERE THE
ELECTRICITY HAS BEEN CUT. OLEG NODS LEFT TO RIGHT AND LOOKS AT
HIS ROOMATES IN DISAPPOINTMENT.

“Everyone, do an inventory, what do we have.” - Pavlov commands

“In the name of hell, they actually did it.” - Oleg mutters
CUT TO CLIPS OF THE NUCLEAR MISSILES DETONATING AND CARS DRIVING
AWAY FROM THE SCENE

MORE SMALLER EXPLOSIONS ARE HEARD

AFTER THE SOUND DISSIPATES THE TRIO LEAVE THEIR HOUSE AND ENTER
A RUIN.

“What…the hell” - Oleg

“Go inside, get your packs ready, get your gas mask, get your
hunting rifles, we’re getting out of this hell hole.” - Igor
commands with urgency being sensed in his voice

THEY RUN INSIDE THE HOUSE, PUSHING AND STUMBLING ON THE STEPS TO
THEIR HOUSE.

THEY SCURRY INSIDE, KNOCKING EVERYTHING OVER IN A STATE OF PANIC

AND RUN BACK OUSTIDE AFTER GRABING THEIR KIT.

THEY RUN INTO THE STREET AND START GOING ALONG AT IT. THEY LOOK
IN SHOCK AND DESPAIR AT THE LEVELED BUILDINGS AND THE DECIMATED
CARS.

CUT TO AN OVERHEAD SHOT SHOWING THEM FOLLOWING THE ROAD AND

SHOWING THE DESTRUCTION.
