Asa result, the Oil Coordination Comittee (OCC) will stand abolished effective Ist April, 2002. 2. While a statwory regulator would be in piace post APM to take care of most of the ares requiring inte, vention, the Gavernnicnt would still need to discharge same af the functions, presently being performed by the OCC. a8 such Functions would continue to remain withie the domain of the Government. Thus, it has been decided to create a “Petroteun Planning and Analysis Cell” cffective Ist April, 2002, to be attached to the Ministry and assist inter alin ia the dise of following functions .(aries i) NW TA: ST flung areas, (@)_ Adntinistration of subsidy on PDS Kerosene and domestic LPG and freight subsidy for (b) Maintenance of information data bank and communication system to deal with emergencies nud unfarescest {) Analyzing the trends in lhe international oil market and domestic prices, (@) Forecasting and evaluation of petroleum import and export trends, (©) Operationalising the sector specific surcharge schemes, if any. “The services of the Cell will also be utitized to wind up the oil pool account 3, ‘Thestructurcof the Cell is at Annicxure, Oil Industry Development Board (OLDE) will fund whe offive expenditure and the expenditure in respect of 43 personnel whose designations and job group have been mentioned in the Annexure. with the expenditure in respect of the rest of the personnel being borne by the concerned oi companies, to wham the employees belong, up till 31st December, 2002.
