Championing greater heights of Higher Education:

The USTP Claveria Strategic Planning 2022

Transcending boundaries between excellence and challenges in the modern


higher academe, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines
(USTP) Claveria blazed its trail towards championing 21 st Century Education through its
Strategic Planning 2022, March 9-11 at Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The three-day activity was participated by the members of the campus
Administrative Committee, headed by the Chancellor, Dr. Renato O. Arazo, along with
the Vice-Chancellors, Engr. Dennis T. Yamuta, Finance and Administration and Dr.
Alexander L. Ido, Academic Affairs.
Highlights of the event included the plenary sessions on Concepts and Principles
of Futures Thinking for the Public Sector and Strategic Foresight using Scenario
Development by Dr. Alan S. Cajes, Senior Executive Fellow, Development Academy of
the Philippines, USTP Strategic Plan and Vision 2030 by Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II,
USTP System President and the Claveria Science and Technology Parks by Mr. Clint
Django Pacana, Agropolis In-charge for Day 1 and the 5-Year USTP Claveria Action
Plan by Dr. Renato O. Arazo for Day 2.
Workshops of the various plenary sessions were facilitated by Ms. Maria
Consuelo R. Del Castillo, and Prof. Ma. Liza D. Manliquez, Planning, Monitoring and
Evaluation (PME) Directors for the USTP System and Claveria Campus, respectively.
“This is a perfect platform for taking part in laying out our plans for the university
as we trek towards bringing quality service to our clients and the community,” said Mr.
Lasaro A. Gomez, Faculty and Support Personnel Association (FASPA) President and
Career Center and Industry Relations In-charge.
Envisioning to champion in the creation of cutting-edge agri-environmental
innovations and technologies in education, industry, and economy for national
development, Dr. Renato O. Arazo shed light to the importance of unified actions for the
realization of the university’s common goal as he concluded the activity in his closing
message. #
