Document Update

Introduction

• Aadhaar has emerged as the most widely accepted proof of identity with provision to
identify a resident with biometric authentication. Aadhaar is now being used to avail
numerous Government services by the residents.

• In order to avail these services, the residents are required to submit Aadhaar with latest
and updated details. There are residents who got Aadhaar more than 10 years back, but
may not have updated it as they might still be residing at the same address or there was no
change in their demographic details. Such residents need to revalidate their address by
uploading the supporting documents.
Document Update

Why?

• Everyone should keep always keep their demographic details updated to strengthen their
Aadhaar.

• Resident who have not updated demographics (Name, Address, DOB, Gender) in last in 10
years, are encouraged to update POI & POA documents.

• Even if there is no change in demographic (such as Address, Name (Marriage))residents are


encourage to update documents at least once in 10 year (as per Section 6 of Aadhaar Act).
Document Update

How?

• The new feature permits Aadhaar number holders to revalidate details in their Aadhaar by
updating the Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents, without any
change in the Aadhaar database.

• Please ask the resident when the last update done (year) by resident. If a resident has
updated PoI and PoA in the last ten year then kindly advise the Resident not to update the
documents again.

• If your are using Online Mode for Document Upldate on ECMP client, please ensure RD devices
(single finger print or single iris device), for operator/resident authentication is available,
where the data as per Aadhaar database can be verified.
Document Update

How?

• Resident can get the document updated in Aadhaar, by visiting nearest Aadhaar Centre or
through online mode myAadhaar Portal.

• At Aadhaar Centre there are 2 methods in ECMP client


– Online
– Offline
• Document Update service is chargeable at a cost of Rs. 50/- only inclusive of all applicable
taxes, this amount is non-refundable.

• You should strictly use ‘Document Update Feature’ only when resident Aadhaar Demographic
details match with documents (POA & POI) available with the resident.

ECMP Online How?

• Operator to scan and upload the documents and complete the submission of request in the
ECMP.
• The documents furnished by the resident against POI and POA to be returned to the resident
after uploading. Operator is not permitted to maintain/collect copy of the documents
furnished by the resident. This flow shall be as per existing processes of Enrolment &
Update.
• The applicable charges for document update shall be Rs 50/-.
• On completion of the submission, acknowledgement containing the applicable charge to be
handed over to the resident.
• If the resident requires any changes in demographic details, the document update service
need not to be availed. The resident should follow the existing Demographic Update feature
with applicable charges as per the existing provisions.
Enter Resident EID No. or Aadhaar No. and fingerprint of Resident and Operator through Single Figure
Print RD device for fetching Demographic details.
After entering Resident EID No. or Aadhaar No. and fingerprint of Resident and Operator through Single Figure
Print RD device click on “ Find Aadhaar “ Tab for fetching Demographic details.
Resident Demographic details will appear on screen. Operator to match and verify fetched demographic
details before accepting POA & POI document of resident and then click on “Next” Tab
After verifying the documents from fetched details, “ References” window opens. Operator will scan and
attach the POI/POA documents on this page and click “Next” tab.
After scanning and attaching documents “ Photograph” Window opens and operator capture Resident Biometric and Click
on “Next” tab.
“Review” window will show case the verification details. Operator to verify the resident details for final confirmation and
Click on “Confirm” tab.
After confirmation Operator will have to provide his Biometric and click on “Verify Biometric” and then click on “Save”.
After completing the process the Document Update Request captured successfully will be prompt on screen. Operator needs to click
“Print Receipt” tab and then click on “Attached Documents” tab for final submission.
Operator is to attach resident signed print receipt and signed enrolment form and Click on “Save” tab.
Finally Operator Clicks on “Complete Enrolment” for completing the document update request successfully.
Document Update

ECMP Offline How?

• The enrolment operator to select Lifecycle Changes and click on ‘offline document update’
made available on the offline ECMP client.
• Provision to verify the existing Aadhaar data shall not be available under this process.
• Operator enter the Aadhaar number and Name of the resident as per the physical copy of
Aadhaar produced at the time of enrolment. However it may be noted that no change in
Name will take place in Aadhaar Database.
• Residents to submit Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) document in original.
• Operator to scan and upload the documents and capture the facial image and biometrics
(any one attributes of biometrics - Right or left iris, both thumbs, fingerprints of left hand or
right hand) at the time of enrolment, which shall not be verified on real time basis.

ECMP Offline How?

• Operator to scan and upload the documents and complete the submission of request in the
ECMP.
• The documents furnished by the resident against POI and POA to be returned to the resident

Click to the Lifecycle option and select “Offline Document Update”
In the first tab
‘Demographic Details’,
Enter the Aadhaar
number and Name of the
resident as per the
physical copy of Aadhaar
produced at the time of
enrolment.

However it may be noted


that no change in Name
will take place in the
Aadhaar Database.
References Tab’, upload POI/ POA
documents of the residents.

Please Note that Residents to


submit Proof of Identity (POI) and
Proof of Address (POA) document in
ORIGINAL ONLY.

•Select the documents available in


the drop down menu that you wish
to upload.

•Scan the resident document which


has the same address and name
available in their Aadhaar.
Capture the facial image and
biometrics (any one attribute of
biometrics - Right or left iris,
both thumbs, fingerprints of left
hand or right hand) at the time
of enrolment, which shall not be
verified on real time basis.
In the Review section, carefully check all the details of the residents and Confirm.
