Does economic globalization divide or unite the world?

If we find out about the term "Globalization" in different dictionaries we can realize that there are too
many meanings like "the increase of trade around the world, especially by large companies producing
and trading goods in many different countries" or "when available good and services, or social and
cultural influences, gradually become similar in all parts of the world". So, does globalization bring us
together or tear us apart? With the definitions provided above, we can conclude that globalization is a
development involving the advancement of communication and transportation technologies. Because of
these advancements, global manufacturing markets formed, and we now have access to a variety of
foreign items that we could not previously eat. International commerce in manufactured goods
expanded by more than a factor of 100. In this case, there are far too many ways in which globalization
improves our lives, such as information, the job market, culture, competition, politics, finance, society,
and so on. To answer the main question, I believe we must look at the societal aspect. It has been
demonstrated that globalization facilitates international interactions. But what about interpersonal
relationships? In recent years, there has been an explosion in the number of social networks (Microsoft,
Facebook, Twitter, Discord, Instagram, and so on) that are simple to use and allow us to contact people
all over the world. There are horrific statistics that back this up. In 2010, Facebook had 2.9 billion users,
whereas Discord had 150 million monthly users. With these figures, I hope to demonstrate how the
consequences of globalization may help to bring individuals from all over the world together. On the
other side, we have neighbors that are rather near. The same social networking phenomenon has a
downside. Many people are substituting face-to-face interactions with online interactions via chat. This
condition, in my opinion, is very harmful to the correct development of social skills that everyone should
have, and it might lead to a significant societal disaster in the medium term. Even now, a recent study
reveals that spending long periods on the Internet is related to depression. There is also another risky
side effect: sedentarism. Physical inactivity is one of the world's top ten leading causes of death. So,
does globalization divide or unite the world? I believe that the benefits of globalization make our lives
easier and unite our world through society. However, we must consider the other viewpoint. We must
resort to old-school practices such as face-to-face communication to communicate properly and solve
difficulties efficiently. If we do not change course, we risk creating a significant societal crisis that will be
extremely difficult to resolve. We are still on time, and globalization only implies positive news in this
regard.
Main points

 Globalization will unite the world once a good mindset is encouraged throughout society. Living
standards have increased as globalization has influenced communication and transportation.

 Globalization is beneficial since it enhances our culture in many ways, but we must exercise
caution while adopting new communication tools because we may lose the practice of
communicating face-to-face.

 The media and humans have a great influence as a result of globalization. The most visible
consequence is the growth of communication, with the emergence of media communication
systems (newspapers, social networks, television, and the internet) to convey information and
link people from all over the world.

 Generally, globalization has affected many nations in various ways; economically, politically, and
socially. It is a term that refers to the fast integration and interdependence of various nations,
which shapes world affairs on a global level. Simply put; globalization is the world coming
together.

 According to Forbes.com, one of the most significant advantages of this approach is its potential
to generate "efficiencies and possibilities" as a result of open marketplaces. It also enables "easy
credit and growing leverage" all around the world. As a result, the response is that globalization
may be good for society. Globalization can also have several negative consequences.

 Communication technology is an important aspect of globalization that has a substantial

influence on human society, and it is a primary driving force that would not have been
conceivable without globalization. It is a system for transmitting the information. Advances in
communication technology have increased the availability of information.

 Globalization has had a significant impact on the necessary skillset of effective communicators,
leading to the creation of communication skills development.

 Globalization has an impact on global communication by allowing enterprises to pursue

previously undiscovered prospects all over the world. Similarly, cultural boundaries are being
torn down through the usage of the internet and mobile technologies, with distance and
isolation becoming obsolete.
