1. Title of the reading BROWN EYES Author PAUL STEWART

2. All readings teach a lesson (theme/moral). What did you learn from this one?
From reading I learned that you should always be aware of the signs that indicate danger,
be aware of bullying situations and that it is very necessary in these cases to notify the
authorities so that they can intervene in time and avoid any tragedy.

3. Setting (Where the reading takes place?).

The place where the story takes place is in the city of Lea-on-Sea in the United Kingdom.

4. Main Characters (Give a brief description of each character).

* Peter Reed: He is Susan's husband, in the story he shows his concern because a man is
supplanting him. He was the victim of a stalker who killed his wife and placed the murder
weapon in his hands so that the police could incriminate him.
* Susan Reed: It is the protagonist of the story, the wife of Peter and who was murdered
by a man named Stephen Griggs who was his co-worker years ago.
* Stephen Griggs : He is the man who was impersonating Peter, and who was harassing
Susan, it was his co-worker years ago. The obsession with Susan made him become her
killer.
* Mrs. Brown: She is the receptionist at Hotel Vista
* Mary Brown: she is Mrs. Brown’s daughter
5. Plot (Write a summary about the story).
Susan and Peter are a married couple who travel to the same place every year to
celebrate their anniversary.
Thirteen years ago they met in that city.
They always arrive at the same hotel where they are received by Mary.
The days go by and Peter notices that many people greet him as if they had seen him
recently and he suspects that they are impersonating him.
He says that he will notify the authorities, but Susan does not allow it, because the Police
will think that he is crazy.
One night they arrive at the hotel and enter their room and see that the door is open and
there is a photograph on the bed.
Then Stephen Griggs appears in the room, who is the man who is impersonating Peter
and who confesses to being in love with Susan for thirteen years, a time ago where they
worked together.
By not accepting this man's love, she is murdered, and her murderer places the weapon in
Peter's hands, so that the police, upon arriving and finding the scene so horrible, would
blame Peter for murdering his wife.
6. Did you like the reading? Why or Why not?
I liked the story, it has a bit of suspense and relates a topic of bullying in a concrete way,
which allows one to reflect and alert to be attentive to a similar situation.
7. On a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best) where would you rate this book? Why
On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate the story at 7, why?? Because although the subject is
interesting and the story had its moments of suspense, I do not describe in detail how the
murderer did to supplant Peter and it is not explained in his story how the murderer fell in
love with Susan.
