The provisions of DO 12, s. 2020 on the Basic Education Learning Continuity
Plan (BE-LCP) recognize the value of flexibility in the teaching-learning process
based on contextualization.
Flexible learning offers learners rich learning choices from multiple dimensions
of study, applies learner-centered constructivist approach which is indicated by a
shift from the teacher taking learning responsibilities to the learner taking these
Rationale responsibilities, and requires learners to be more skilled at self-regulation in terms
of goal setting, self-monitoring, self-instruction and self-reinforcement. In a flexible
learning environment, teachers promote active learning by creating engaging and
effective situations (UNESCO 2020).
Thus, the week of December 14-19, 2020 will be devoted to In-Service
Training (INSET) which may include MELCs-based Quarter 2 planning for
Distance Learning Delivery Modalities (DLDM).
At the end of 2020 In-Service Training for Teachers (INSET), participants
are expected to:
1. Gain understanding of the different learning delivery modalities
prescribed in the BE-LCP;
2. Organize a LAC group in school to support learning;
3. Plan and implement learning activities for MELCs in Quarter 2;
4. Observe and practice the Alternative Work Arrangement in the DepEd
during the period of State on National Emergency due to COVID-19 pandemic;
5. Design instruction in the different learning modalities;
6. Use of different learning strategies and approaches/pedagogy in
distance learning;
7. Enhance 21st Century Skills through distance learning;
8. Find creative teaching ways for remediation and enhancement
programs;
9. Design and make contextualized Instructional Materials (IMs) and
Objectives
Enrichment activities and Distance Learning Strategies;
10. Implement the Interim guidelines for Assessment and Grading in Light
of the BE-LCP;
11. Internalize the context of DO 20, s. 2020 (Adoption & Implementation
of NEAP Professional Development Credit Unit Banking Mechanism for
Participation of Teachers and School Leaders in NEAP-Recognized Professional
Development Programs and Courses)
12. Plan and update for Continuing Professional Development, Promotion
& Reclassification:
13. Assess, evaluate and adjust the LCP;
11. Strengthen awareness and empowerment with regards to mental
health education;
12. Practice and strengthen SBM WinS practices during this pandemic;
13. Improve stakeholders’ engagement and partnership.
