‘Table BI gives the normalised Basic Working
Stresses (Working Stress Design) and Stiffness
values assigned to the MGP pine stress grades
referred to in this manual. The basic working
stress values are multiplied by the depth effect
factors given in Table B2.
Compression perpendicular to grain and joint
shear strength as derived from AS1720.1 Table
2.2 for SD6 timber, are 4.1 and 1.7 MPa,
respectively.
MGP pine is assigned joint strength groups as
shown in Table B3.
