technological resources required for the operation of a
selected business and create a set of presentation slide with
note to show your understanding of how resources, physical
and technological resources are managed to improve the
performance of the selected organization.

Al Ruwad International School Muscat

Location: This school is located in Al khoud muscat

Foundation: This school is founded in 2012

Curriculum: Alberta education program and ministry of education

program for Islamic studies and social studies.

Infra structure: One big building with 5 floors.

School’s vision: To make every student, a responsible citizen

School’s mission: To provide students every opportunity to achieve

their goal and succeed in life ahead.

School’s core value: To care, to respect, achieve excellence, to create

identity and be citizen, be a responsible person, and achieve lifelong
learning.

Physical resources:
The resources which are needed for the maintenance of any business are
called physical resources, such as buildings, plant, facilities, and
machinery. These are the resources which are needed by any
organization on daily basis to work properly. These are the backbones of
any organization without which any organization cannot work properly.
I went in Al Ruwad International School to see their physical resources
and check whether these resources are upto date for the students to
achieve their goal ahead in their life. I made a list of all the physical
resources available in Al Ruwad International School, following are the
resources available in Al Ruwad International School.

 School clinic: Al ruwad school is having a clinic with a qualified

nurse
 Bus services: bus services are provided for all the students and
teaching staff from school to different parts of muscat and outside
muscat
 Library: school is providing a range of good books in Arabic and
English in a big library.
 Science lab: science lab is equipped with modern instruments used
in science lab; all the chemicals required are available in science
lab.
 Computer lab: computer lab is equipped with modern computers
and every student can get a personal computer in their computer
period.

  Swimming pool: big swimming pool is available for students to
learn and enjoy swimming.
 Football field: a big and good football field is available for
students to excel and win trophies in football championships
organized in oman and internationally.
 Gym: a big and well equipped gym with basic requirements is
available for students and staff.
 Prayer room: to worship God, a nice maintained prayer room is
available for students and teachers.
 Cooking club: cooking club is available with all required
equipments and tools for all the students to learn and enhance
cooking skills.
 Physical exercise area: for maintenance of the body, there is an
area available for physical exercise.

These are the physical resources available in Al Ruwad International

School which are good initiatives to attract students to take admission in
this school.

Technological resources:

Resources which are not tangible means you cannot touch are called
technological resources, but these resources are very important in
succeeding in life and in advancement, and theses resources make you
up-to-date with the world. Examples of these resources are software,
internet, and websites, patent, music, videos, software license etc.
I went in Al Ruwad International School to see their technological
resources, and check the standards of technological resources provided
by school to the students. I made a list of all technological resources
which were very few. Following is the list of all technological resources
provided by Al Ruwad International School.

 W.LAN/ Internet: School is providing free internet to all staffs

and other students when given permission to use to surf on net for
some school project or assignment.
 Audio / Video library: A wide range of audio and video clips are
present in school, which is available for students when they require
it for the assignment and project work.
 Software: Few software are there in school computer lab and in
clerical office to do some clerical work.

These are the very few technological resources which are available in Al
Ruwad International School.

There are some resources which should be there in Al Ruwad
International School. But school is lacking those resources. These
resources can enhance the performance of each and every student and
can help them to learn and understand things in a very much better way.
Following is the list which mentions about lack of equipments as
physical resources.

Lack of equipments as physical resources:

 Amphitheatre: There should be an amphitheatre in the school, it
will encourage the students to participate in stage performance and
will give them chance to work in entertainment world.
 Common room: There should be a common room for all girls
students according to their pravicay.
 Chemistry lab: There should be different chemistry lab for the
higher class students as this will make the students understand
chemistry better.
 Physics lab: Instead of having one science lab, there should be
different physics lab to understand physics better.
 Biology lab: Instead of having one science lab, there should be
different biology lab to understand biology better.
 Printer and photo copier: There should be a good printer and
photocopier in school instead of having old one.
 IT department: School should have an IT department to check all
IT related issues.

I think these are some physical resources which school can have and
make progress in the education field using these resources.
In the same way, there are some resources which should be there in Al
Ruwad International School. But school is lacking those resources.
These resources can enhance the performance of each and every student
and can help them to learn and understand things in a very much better
way. Following is the list which mentions lack of technological
resources.

Lack of technological resources:

 E-encyclopedia: School should have an E-encyclopedia, which is

far better than using normal encyclopedia available in book forms.
It can be a great fun also for students to work on computers
learning about all the definitions of every word.
 Patent and copyright: School should have a patent or copyright to
protect their students work and assignments and projects. This can
help the school to achieve their task easily without being worried
about copying and cheating.

 Firewall: School should have installed a firewall to protect
students and staff being cheated on internet or to prevent from
viruses.

These are some technological resources which I think are

implemented in school to make progress in education field and to
attract the students to take admission in Al Ruwad International
School.

Human resources:
The people working in any company or organization are called human
resources. Or you can say employee working in any organization is
called human resources. But these resources should be handled with
care. Unlike physical resources, these resources are very sensitive and
should be dealt with sensitively.

Management of human resources:
Human resources are bit sensitive and should be dealt with care.
Therefore management of human resources is very important. There
should be people to monitor the performance of each and every
employee in any organization.
I went to Al Ruwad International School to do survey on all their
resources; I checked their physical resources, technological resources
and human resources. It’s very important to have the number of
employee required for any institution.
Unlike all other resources human resources cannot be treated the
same or you cannot throw them in garbage as they stop working,
because they are protected by some legislation and cannot be treated
like things. Therefore it is very important to tackle with human
resource with lots of care.
Following are some ways to ensure that the human resources are
working well in Al Ruwad International School.

 Staffing: School should recruit suitable staff for the jobs

prescribed. Staff should be hired according to required
qualification, and they should be trained in the institution.
 Co-ordination: It is very important to see whether all
employees are well blended with each other. Their co-ordination
will help the organization to achieve their goal.
 Monitoring the team: Team should be monitored by a
supervisor, staff members should be monitored. Some

 supervisor or main person, in school you can say principle
should keep eye on the performance of the staff.
 Establish professionalism: professionalism is a key word while
dealing with human resources. It’s very important to be
professional with all the employee or staff to achieve the
success in education department.
 Providing incentives: Providing incentives is very important
part of human resources, as it will ensure that staff is working
whole heartedly.
 Encourage creativity: to perform well in school, you should
encourage the creativity.

These are some points which are important when managing human
resources. Human resources are the important part which can improve
the performance of any organization, and dealing with physical and
technological resources is done beautifully with the help of good human
resources. Human resource management is very important because all
the staffs included in human resource can handle all the physical and
technological resources. As human have brain, with help of brain it’s
very easy and affordable to deal with all other resources to do
development in the field of marketing and achieve the said targets.
Theses all points I gave to Al Ruwad International School to do some
improvements in their performance.

Task 3
“Managing resources and controlling budget costs can
improve the performance of a business”. You are
required to assess the relative merits of the methods of
the managing resources and to make judgments on the
effectiveness of these methods in improving the
performance of the selected business.

“Managing resources and controlling budget costs can improve the

performance of a business”. It is true in every sense, as this is the core
key, which can be handled with care can give a good outcome. It’s very
important for any organization to manage all the resources they have in a
proper way. Budgets also should be controlled to achieve the said target
and earn profit.

Managing resources:

In Al Ruwad International School, all the resources are used but not in
very proper way, there can be some changes and some implementations
which can improve the outcome of Al Ruwad International School.
Managing all physical and technological resources along with human
resources is very important.

Physical resources:

There are some changes in physical resources which can give a better
outcome and can enhance the performance of students and give them a
better chance to learn the new things and achieve their goal. These
changes can change the outlook of teaching staff also. There will be
improvement in the number of admissions every year. So managing
these resources is to be done with very precise actions.
I am working as business consultant provided them a good way to
manage the physical resources, and gave them some ideas regarding
improvement of their performance.
Technological resources:

There are some changes in technological resources also, which can give
better outcome. Managing these resources is very important, as this can
lead you to decide whether this business is suitable for you or not.
I as consultant suggested them some measures to manage their
technological resources and take better outcome.
Human resources:
This is the main resource which should be managed properly by
selecting the right person for right job. Giving them opportunities to
show their skills and letting them to perform as their will. These are
some factors which can manage the human resources and give a good
outcome.
If all these resources are managed properly, it can benefit the
organization in tremendous ways.

Controlling budgets:
Controlling budgets is very important as it can raise the profit level.
There should be a team which can control or make a budget which
should cover all the required things but with very low quotation.
Controlling budget will also help the school not to fall into any financial
problem. The school should estimate and should provide a prediction
regarding income and expenditure related to school.
Controlling budget will help the school management to see and decide
whether they can afford to open any new branch of school or they have
to just survive with the current one.
In this way I helped Al Ruwad International School to show them the
effective ways of controlling the budgets and management of resources.
