Cubism emerged from Paris. It was created in 20th century approximately between
1907 and 1914. Principally it was created by the artist, Pablo Picasso and George Braque. Cubists artists rejected the traditional techniques like the one of perspective, modeling, chiaroscuro and more techniques
The characteristics of this style were that they remarked the two dimension surface of the picture that is flat. In this style painters did not copied the, shape form, texture, colour and other things from what they are painting, there way of painting was a new reality because they painted objects represented in a fragmented way.
The name of this artistic style was originated by a critic of Louis Vauxcelles that described the painting of Braque -[3]Houses at L'estaque- to be painted/composed by cubes. The example that I mentioned before, shows clearly the inspiration of most of the artists with the landscapes of Paul Cézanne that caused the development of cubism first stage of development until 1909. The evidence of this inspiration is that Pablo Picasso painted in 1907 -Les Demoiselles d’ Avignon- can show Cezanne’s style.[1] It’s perspective was rendered through out the colors, with the colours reddish-brown and the blues.
Some famous artists that painted in cubism were Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Robert, Sonia Delaunay, Juan Gris, Roger de la Fresnaye, Marcel Duchamp, Albert Gleizes, Jean Metzinger and more.
There were a lot of movement development in cubism. One was the Analytic Cubism that happened between the years 1910 and 1912. In this period the paintings/works of Picasso and Braque were so similar that it hardly even notice the differences. In this period the paintings of both artists showed the analysis of form. Both of them liked more painting in aright-angle and straight-line pictures. One example is the painting of Pablo Picasso called [2]“Picasso's Girl with a Mandolin, did it in 1910.
Apart from the paintings there were also sculptures and architectures.
