PROJECT TITLE:

Maximum and Minimum Shade Temperature, Guyana: What is the maximum and minimum
shade temperature, Guyana for the years 1985 and 1986?
INTRODUCTION:

Guyana enjoys a wet tropical climate with warm temperatures and abundant rainfall without the
extremes of hot or cold. Temperature ranges between 16°C and 34°C with lower temperatures in
the higher regions. Air temperatures range between 16°C and 34°C with lower temperatures in
the higher regions. Temperatures on the coast range between 22°C and 31°C due to the
stabilizing effect of the sea and the North Eastern Trade Winds. These Trade Winds flow over
the coast with speeds averaging ten miles per hour, and decrease as they move further inland
where light winds generally prevail.
The purpose of this project was to find out the temperature monthly for the years 1985 and 1986
in Guyana and to compare the average temperatures throughout both years in order to find out
which year had the highest average temperature.

DATA COLLECTION:

In order to get data for this project, research was done on the internet to find a suitable data

Chart to show the temperature over the years 1985 and 1986

ANALYSIS OF DATA:

The table shows the temperature of every month of the years 1985 and 1986. It also shows the
annual mean of both years. In the year 1985 the maximum annual mean of temperature was 29.9
while the maximum mean of the year 1986 was 29.8 which means the year 1985 had a higher
maximum mean. So, in 1985, the maximum temperature for the entire year was generally higher
than that of 1986. In the year 1985 the minimum annual mean of temperature was 24 while the
minimum mean of the year 1986 was 24.2 which means 1985 had the lower annual minimum
mean temperature. So, in 1986, the minimum temperature for the entire year was generally
higher than 1985.
DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS:

In the year 1985 the maximum annual mean of temperature was 29.9 while the maximum mean
of the year 1986 was 29.8 which means the year 1985 had a higher maximum mean. In the year
1985 the minimum annual mean of temperature was 24 while the minimum mean of the year
1986 was 24.2 which means 1985 had the lower annual minimum mean temperature.
CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, mean maximum temperature in the year 1985 was 29.9 which was higher than the
year 1986 which mean maximum temperature was 29.8. Mean minimum temperature in the year
1985 was 24 which was lower than the year 1986 which mean minimum temperature was 24.2.
