Formulating Testable Questions
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Choose a group leader who will make a copy of this google


slides template. You are not allowed to edit this document.
2. The chosen group leader will click share and add his group
members as editors.
3. As a group, you will help each other in answering the
questions
4. Each member will save a .pdf copy of the google slides with
answers.
5. Submit the google slides in the submission bin of this playlist.

A. List down 10 topics that you would like to know
about science.
Examples: alternatives to plastic, cheap and easy water filtration, saltwater in lighting up a light bulb
1. Is there a multiverse out there where children are considered leaders instead of the adults
2. How fast do cells multiply
3. When does your heart start beating
4. What do babies dream about?
5. Different flavor affecting how fast ice cream melts
6. Are there doppelgangers of ourselves out there somewhere
7. What came first the chicken or the egg
8. Potato powered electricity
9. Do different color clothing affect body temperature
10. Do different soils affect the growth rates of different plants (corn, tomato and other)
B. Choose at least 3 topics listed in A and formulate a testable
question about them. Recall the format of testable questions.
Example:

1. Will changing the amount of salt affect the luminosity of the light bulb?

2. Does the length of exposure to sunlight change the quality of water in a bottle?
3. Which material is the strongest alternative to plastic bags, woven polypropylene, PET, or cotton?

1. Will changing the flavor affect how fast ice cream melts?

2. Does the color of your clothing affect your body temperature?

3. If we change the soil will it affect the growth of plants


C. Which among the questions you answered in letter B can you investigate
at home (if for some reason you/the group needs to go into quarantine)?

I can investigate number 1 since it is easy to compare which ice cream flavor melts faster by putting them in
room temperature.
D. Why is it important to conduct the experiment and who will benefit if
you investigate the questions you answered in letter C?

It is important so you know how to make your ice cream eating experience a little more convenient. And it
