Shrouded Pool
9”
11” I will dream of this pool
13” until my dying days. We
8” spilled the blood of
12” three peoples to reach
it, and though my steps
28” left bloody footprints,
no taint of gore touched
its waters.
21”
In every mirror I see my
reflection in its surface,
21” and the faces of the foes
who sought to keep me
from it. The Lady was
with me that day, and
ever since.

Foothill Outpost
9”
These soft borderlanders
knew of our approach
24” when their fields burned
13” and their herds scattered
15” before us.
13”
10” They even mounted a
pitiful resistance, loosing
arrows from roofs and
22” thickets. Yet we poured
from hill and forest and
27” fell upon their hamlet.

So we took all that they

had, and more than they
could spare. None will
stand between me and
my glory - or my Lord’s.

Dilapidated Manor
20”
We who know the true
power behind the world
must often work in
secret.
15”
16”
With only a little
persuasion, the former
9” occupants were kind
9” enough to allow this
master of mysticism to
set up home.

Now the estate is

inhabited by friends of
mine, and our
27” occasional...guests.

Fortunately, their arrival

21” goes unnoticed in this
grand place. Once the
Courtesan arrives, the
city will have such havoc
visited upon it, they shall
be gifted glorious visions
18”
of a new world.

Volcanic Lake
14”
In the mountains of the
Blasted Plains, water is a
12” valuable resource. Even
the water to be found in a
28” volcanic caldera can be
put to good use.
18”
Now these interlopers
would seek to infringe
14” upon lands we hold by
divine right?

By force of arms they will

learn their error. By steel
and discipline they will
be driven from this place.
30” By fire will our
retribution be delivered
21” to them.

12” You do not see us, but we

see you - uninitiated.

14” You tramp the highlands

and bring waste and
18” decay - despoilers.

We lie in wait, beneath

the surface, and still your
eyes fail you - hotbloods.

We will strike from bush,

from swamp, from grass,
silent death comes - prey.

We mourn your passing,

32” yet your graves will give
new life from decay -
renewers.

Ancient Walls
30”
Once our walls stood high
11” and proud over the city of
Khedesai. Centuries of
wind and sand have
15” 20”
created breaches that no
battering ram ever did.
23” 17”
You saw our unmanned
13” walls and thought our
history was yours for the
taking. Our legacy there
to be plundered.

We rose from our eternal

rest. Took up weapons
33” that survived the ages.
Set ourselves to defend
our home. And drove the
11” 21” living from our hallowed
ground.

Beacon Hill
9”
Above all, our people
survive on their
7” discipline.
14”
Some will speak of guns
32” and artillery. They have
not seen damp powder or
misfires. Some will speak
20” of arms and armour.
They have not seen
swords break. Some will
19” talk of faith. I honour
Sunna, but she will not
defend us - we must fight
in her name.
17”
Discipline holds us
together, binds us to our
21” cause. The Beacons are a
symbol of our
commitment, and we will
defend them!

8” Witch’s Cottage
12”
22” In the truly wild places,
few make their home. As
we travel the Dark
14” Woods, we know all the
denizens beneath the
black boughs.
30”
18”
Through the tangled
thickets and dire beasts,
4” the Witch’s story is
known to all our people
in this land. From her
cabin, the Witch sees all,
and we respect her
wisdom and her trade in
herbs - and ales.
21”
Now interlopers walk
20” beneath the canopy,
among her gardens, and
we will drive them back
28” once more. That her story
may continue, and that
14” we may tell it anew.

Mage’s Sanctum
18”
Many who are talented in
the Art choose to reside
12” 12” in our great institutions.
Asfada and Canrac offer
6” 17” unparalleled
opportunities for magical
18” study. Yet many choose to
build their own towers in
isolation, preferring
27” seclusion while hoarding
secrets.

The home of Mage

Ilthuryn is one such
location. An imposing
holdfast of white stone,
set in a hollow with a still
24” pool of silvery water.

Now that home is under

18” attack from invaders, and
we are mustered to
10” defend the Master Mage.

9”
7” 10” The nobles of Dathen
take great pride in their
22” majestic estates, displays
of their position and
15” standing.

24” The villa of Prince

Folmon Perxina is no
20” exception. He commands
21” one of the grandest
manors to be found, with
14”
14” extensive grounds
spreading out across the
landscape.

It is known that beasts

trained in the Menagerie
roam the holdings,
tasked with savaging any
who would dare to
transgress.
24”
The Prince’s personal
14” guard represents a
14”
veritable army, and this
11” is the force you now find
yourself in service to.
Serve well, and you may
secure advancement.

26” Ancient Fortress
9”
Among the peaks and
valleys of the White
12” 12” Mountains, there are
many remnants of
12” bastions which once
marked frontiers of our
Holds.

The crumbling walls and

slopes of Dun Kenaz are
one such example. This
24” was once a thriving
stronghold, home to a
hundred of our kin and a
19”
stopping point for those
29” who traversed this
mountain pass.
21” I dream that one day the
fort will be restored, that
the walls can be repaired
and the flooded courtyard
drained and relaid.

18” For now though, I pledge

28” to ensure no others
10” desecrate the memories of
9” 14” those who died and were
buried beneath this place.

Frontier Farm

On the border of the
26” Steppe and Tsuandan, the
36” locals know they owe
tribute to the Great Khan.
14”
Food grown along the
16” border will feed our tribe
17” through the harsh winter.

26” Where there is value,

there are thieves. Now
they set upon our people,
40” and we must drive the
wolves back. Longjing’s
27” people often press along
14” our border, but when they
24” threaten our sustenance,
they will taste our wrath.

beasts.

8” Ravaged Watchtower

In times long past, our

6” 11”
reach extended across
most of the known world.
13” 17”
The Awakening set us as
23” the inheritors of Avras,
and all its glory. When
we were forced to
20” abandon our birthright,
our people found havens
8” 23” in many places beneath
the notice of those who
thought us dispatched.
30”
This watchtower once
stood on the fringes of
our territory, in what was
the Regio Equitatem.

The horselords who rule

17” these lands now see a
mere husk of a structure,
15” with no clue of the
strength positioned
within. These seeds lie in
14” 6” many places, and wait
our moment to rise
9” again.

17” 23” Creeping Forest

Ours is the tree, the

thicket, the forest. Ours is
the wilderness, the sylvan
13” lands, the liminal places.

28” Yours are the villages, the

towns, the cities. The
foolhardy attempt to
20” have nature follow lines
and squares.

32” We see you from our

home. For so long as you
keep a distance we
tolerate. But transgress
14” 15” once too often, and you
may find the forest draws
near. Nothing built by
21” 21” mortals cannot be
undone by nature and
time.

27” Eerie Graveyard

Rest in peace. A quaint

notion. To lay the body
12”
to rest, to bury all the
infinite possibilities in
15” 19”
the ground, for worms
and maggots to feast.
18” 39”
You fear my kind. Our
knowledge scares you,
8” as does our strength
and will to use it. Here,
in this quiet hamlet, I
have everything I need
to build an army.
36”
13” The souls of your dead,
will provide my soldiers.
23” Your cattle will fall and
21” my zombies will rise.
And buried somewhere
in the nearby hills, I
18”
have heard tell of a
dragon’s fallen form.
15”
Soon, I will be among
the great powers, all
19” 6” beginning from a small
town graveyard. Rest in
8” 8” peace? You may try…

7” Shattered Bridge

7” We cross the bridge, we

11” take the town, we win the
game, we take the loot,
14” 9” we keep moving.

30” Now peaceborn want to

stop us. Break their own
bridge. Think Warborn
can’t swim? Think
goblins not make
bridges? We can’t build
boats?

Extra challenge for all

this time. Maybe some
29” are returned to the Sleep,
9” and we wait to see them
again.
24”
20” But we are not easy
stopped. We will break
walls, show strength, win
with cunning.

We are born of war, and
this will be best war yet!
