Fashion photography. A genre of photography used to create art and promote fashion
clothing and items. Whether you like it or not, fashion photography surrounds us. It’s
online, in magazines, books, adverts, billboards, everywhere. But my question is, is
fashion photography art or advertising?

question or statement from the introduction, recap some highlights of the things you’ve studied for your
question/statement and suggest whether the statement is supported or what the answer to the question
was.
So, is fashion photography or advertising? (Insert interview answers). Well, it depends on what you’re
looking at. For example, Haute couture (Avant Garde) is format of art through fashion. It’s supposed to grab
your attention, not to be casual. Whereas Pret a Porter is supposed to be casual, it’s meant to showcase
everyday wear, meaning its purpose is a form of advertising clothing. So, the answer to the question is
simply both.
