Relationship between Hun and Shen

The Shen “gathers” the Hun. Thus, on the one hand, the Hun brings
movement to the Shen, and on the other hand, the Shen provides some
control and integration. If the Shen is strong and the Hun properly
"gathered", there will be harmony between the two and the person has
calm vision, insight, emotional balance and wisdom.

EXPLANATION
This remedy is for acute Phlegm and Heat in the Lungs following an invasion of Wind, i.e. following an
influenza. It is a formula for the Qi Level of the 4 Levels. At the Wei Level of influenza, the pathogenic factor is
on the Exterior: this is manifested by the presence of “aversion to cold” and fever. As long as there is aversion
to cold, the pathogenic factor is on the Exterior.
As soon as the pathogenic factor penetrates into the Interior, the aversion to cold disappears and the patient
feels hot (and the temperature usually also rises). Invasion of the Lungs by Heat or Phlegm-Heat are the most
common patterns appearing at the Qi Level following the acute stage of influenza.
