KEYNOTE TYPES

Element Keynotes – Keynotes which are tied to an element in Revit

 Elements keynotes act similar to type parameters as all the same types of a family will carry that keynote value
 Element keynotes are per object (shouldn’t be used for each layer of a wall for instance)
 Element keynotes are great for large sweeping changes across all elements of the same type

User Keynotes – Keynotes which can vary per instance placed

 User keynotes are not tied to an element; they are purely based off of what the user selects
 User keynotes are helpful when you may want to keynote one object with multiple notes

Material Keynotes – Keynotes which are based off of an element’s material

 Material keynotes are useful when you have a similar material across multiple elements in the building that can be noted
the same
 Material keynotes are tied to the material’s parameter and not the element’s keynote value
