 The Suez Canal is a sea-level waterway running north-south

across the Isthmus of Suez in Egypt to connect to Mediterranian

not only of commercial products but also books, magazines, and
newspapers with liberal ideas from America and Europe, which
ultimately affected the minds of Rizal and other Filipino
Reformist. With opening of the Suez Canal, the travel from
Philippines to Spain became possible. This gave way to young

Philippine history , Galleon allowed modern , liberal ideas to
enter the country inspiring the movement for independence from
Spain of which Rizal was largely influenced by liberal ideas.

through which Rizal’s conceptualization of the movement for
national emancipation was based in Spain’s constitutional
history. He said that Rizal’s ideal werebased on Spanish
