o Why do you think people gossip?

Because sometimes to vent from certain topics or issues,
sometimes they have nothing to do, there is no topic of
conversation, for envy, etc.

o Do you gossip with your friends? About what topics?

Yes, sometimes about other people and celebrities.

o What was the last gossip you heard? (use reported speech)

o Do you think gossip can affect peoples’ lives? In what ways?

Yes, in the reputation, affects the quality of social life, there are
conflicts, fights, low self-esteem, damages the well-being, etc.
2. LISTENING/ WRITING: Watch the following scene from the
TV Show “The Office” https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=OeEphjImzsA&t=11s   and answer the questions using
reported speech. Explain your answers in a paragraph (200-
250 words):

In the video of the series "The Office" it shows us first how Michael
scott begins to spread gossip about his co-workers, first it begins
with Stanley spreading rumors about him, Michael says that Stanley
is having an affair with a woman and is also having an age crisis.
After Michael said that Kelly is having an eating disorder, he said
that Kelly is anorexic.
Kelly to tell the rumor about Erin, said that Erin is not a good worker
and can last in the office. then Michael said that Pam is pregnant.
He even told a rumor about a person named Angela, who is dating a
man in his eighties and that the man is a billionaire. Then, all the
office workers took a break and started talking about the rumors and
gossip inside the office, although there came a time when they were
upset that most of them were ruining their reputation.

Erin is happy to see Kelly eat and a worker asks if anyone had
heard of them and many said yes, one of them asks who spreads
the gossip about him saying that there is a person inside him and is
controlling him, and it is where everyone starts to mention who said
the rumor and at the end they mention that it was Michael, everyone
asks him why he did it and at the end Pam says that she really is
pregnant, confirming the rumor. Everyone was shocked by Pam's
confession.

1. Read a gossip about a celebrity and record a 1-3 minute

video describing the gossip and how it affected the
person involved. Conclude your video by stating your
opinion about gossip. Use reported speech.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard:
In 2016, Amber Heard made her divorce from Johnny Depp official
