Ethical use of digital resource - Digital surveillance and technology have
been brought to the forefront of public discussion. When we say forefront,
it is a position that requires immediate action, that needs physical action to
access the data via verbal or data that is transparent to access. However,
this data needs to be protected by a legal data protection; these are several
companies that offer data protection guidelines.
For example, The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR) this company in Europe works as a breach notification system
which works as a “EYE” the system in their company will know if any of
legal data collectors get some information of some individual illegally.
Building a successful data-use program requires four steps which are:
1. Align on company vision and beliefs,
2. Determine data ownership and risk mitigation. (This is to lessen the
risk of someone's data or information to leak),
3. Evolve culture and talent,
4. Set up data-ethics board.
Also data can be collected via internet or web specially in social media,
some data contain virus or in modern world people are experiencing this is
which is also known as “click bait”, where they click links that mislead
them without knowing the virus collects some of its data information.
In conclusion, we need to be mindful in what we see and click on the
internet as this may cause inconveniences not only to us but also to the
people around.
